The Justice Department is dismissing lawsuits against several local police departments and ending investigations into patterns of unconstitutional policing.
In a statement, the Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, Harmeet Dhillon stated: “Overbroad police consent decrees divest local control of policing from communities where it belongs.”
