Facebook tests charging $100 for messages to users you don’t know

I’ve never been a fan of Facebook and the reason I don’t like Facebook is because they ask for too much personal information. If you sign up for Facebook and fill out your profile completely Facebook will know everything they need to need about you and they’ll be able to sell your information over to advertisers. This feels like spying to me and to be honest this has never sat well with me. Well now that Facebook has gathered billions of names, emails, addresses and credit card numbers it wants to start charging you for using its services. The mere fact that Facebook tests charging user’s money to send messages is offensive not only that but it’s going to make people consider other alternatives

When Facebook was created in my opinion and I’ve said this in plenty of posts it made a huge mistake and that was it got too personal it pried its way into peoples personal lives the only reason it worked was because using its services was free. As they start to burden their users with fees it will be interesting to see the reactions of its users. The real reason Facebook is having a hard time making money from advertising is because most it’s users don’t have any money. Sure business people communicate on Facebook but because Facebook is so personal most people aren’t willing to purchase anything via Facebook to make matters worse if Facebook starts charging users any fee even if people continue using Facebook those same users will more than likely distance themselves from Facebook Advertising.

Facebook has so many problems making money because it’s foundation in that regard is completely out of whack people use Facebook because of the option of privacy. By that I mean users can sign up give out private information to Facebook but they can also restrict access to their private information from Facebook users or Advertisers. If Facebook one day charges or restricts privacy access to its users accounts it will be the end of Facebook and if starts to charge people to communicate with other people. People will simply find another way to communicate for free or they’ll only use Facebook’s free features. Facebook is in a bind and it will be interesting to see how it handles its business.
