GM clearly has big plans — but they don’t include Jerry Dias, Unifor and Oshawa, Ontario Canada – May 13, 2019,

The best Union to be a part of is a Public Sector union, why? Because in a public sector union, the workers don’t have to worry as much about market conditions or a changing or evolving market. Government workers or people perceived to be authorities for the public good tend to get a pass when their redistribution and collective schemes don’t work out as planned. Few things that have happened since Justin Trudeau became Prime Minister, the first thing is he’s made life more expensive for everyone, not only has Justin Trudeau raised taxes, he also opted to engage in a trade war with the United States.

Unifor President in case people forget was an advisor for Trudeau during NAFTA renegotiations. Jerry Dias could never in a million years replicate or even duplicate a business as vast as GM, nor does Jerry Dias have any experience in trade negotiations. Yet, his input and his fingerprints are all over the USMCA a deal in which Canada will lose more than it had in NAFTA, sure some Canadians renamed it CUSMA because they think it sounds better, but if that deal is ratified, Canada is worse off than it was under NAFTA.

The worst part of USMCA is the incentive it gives for companies to move their manufacturing back to the United States. It’s important to understand why Justin Trudeau is giving all of this free money to Corporations, it’s because his socialist policies have made Canadian manufacturing uncompetitive. But because the cost of living is increasing, meaning prices for everything is going up, the current economic numbers don’t look as bad as their going to as more large scale businesses, restructure.

The Canadian economy under Trudeau with all of this Carbon Tax nonsense is structuring Canada to be a predominantly service sector economy. If you look at the job numbers, service sector and public sector which also include Government-owned Crown Corporations are seeing the most job growth. Worse still is that Private Sector service sector jobs tend to be part-time, seasonal or temporary. Whereas twindling manufacturing jobs are typically permanent. People forget that manufacturing jobs are what make Canada rich, if your country is dependent on imports to sustain itself, your quality of life will inevitably go down.

Those GM jobs are high paying jobs and before Unions began destroying GM, U.S auto manufacturing was not only known for superior quality but for their great paying jobs. What happened? Unions happened, Leftist policies happened and bad Union management happened. Detroit is the best example of what Leftist and Labour Unions can do to a once thriving industry. When a Union steps in demands higher wages, job security, and retirement security and a plethora of other securities there’s a myth that the wealth that existed prior will exist indefinitely into the future.

No, when workers demand more, GM has to take more risks, which as many people know has equated to less quality made vehicles, the worst part about a union is that it spreads everywhere and all it takes is for a couple of vehicles recalls to occur before the entire GM brand takes a hit. Once sales start to dwindle, obviously the Labour Unions and the people Unifor represent want to excuse themselves of any wrongdoing, but the reality is you’re all in this collectively, which is why in boggles my mind how these Union representatives take none of the blame.

GM as a brand isn’t desirable in 2019, Toyota is growing its manufacturing presence in Ontario while GM is shrinking theirs, do you know what Toyota doesn’t have? Unifor! People who want Unions should ask themselves a question, do you want a job or don’t you? Have you ever wondered how much money it costs GM to open and run the Oshawa plant? GM has shareholders and other investors who don’t invest in GM to be nice, they invest in GM to make a profit, now if a Union is consuming profits for social justice causes and greed, wouldn’t it be wise of GM to alleviate itself of the access baggage?

Greedy Motors or Is it Greedy Unifor and Greedy GM Employees

Now, if there was no union, or if the Union president wasn’t such an idiot, he’d be straight forward with his workforce. sure it would be a difficult conversation to have, but Jerry could easily strike a deal with GM if he was more flexible. Entitlement mentalities stem from people or a group of people who believe that it’s someone else’s job to take care of them. Have you ever seen what some GM assembly line workers get paid or have you ever seen their employment benefits in comparison to other jobs in the Private Sector? I don’t know of GM not paying its employees? I have family embers that spent 20+ years working for GM, they weren’t calling GM greedy when GM secured their retirements helped many of them to buy a home and raise a family, oh, but you see the moment a Private business decides that it wants to restructure instead of maybe being more flexible as they transition, some people opt for mudslinging.

What have you done for me lately. That’s usually the attitude of the entitled spoiled brat child who gave its parent(s) no credit for providing them with food, clothing, and shelter for most of its life. At one time more than 20,000 people worked at the GM facility in Oshawa. Since the Labour Unions and bad Leftist politics, GM has gotten progressively smaller and less profitable in NORTH AMERICA. China is becoming the destination for GM and as we all know China isn’t known for its collective bargaining. Collective bargaining still has the words “bargaining” and for someone like me collective bargaining is stupid because bartering for yourself tends to yield better results.

If a person doesn’t have the ability or skill to barter on their own behalf and that person in a free society isn’t willing to start their own business, wouldn’t that person be grateful for a company like General Motors? I sure as hell would be. The Toronto star article Titled Jennifer Wells: GM clearly has big plans — but they don’t include Oshawa – Toronto Star
gives its own perspective, I personally think it’s time people start behaving like adults and give these big companies some credit, GM has been paying Ontarians for over 100 years and it would probably have grown its presence if GM workers instead of collective bargaining, did some individual bargaining!

Interesting times ahead
