GM to close Canadian plant in Oshawa after 2019, Are Trudeau’s Liberals to blame? – November 26, 2018

Well, I’ve been saying for years, that the world is changing and Canada is on the wrong side of that change. Because current Canadian laws are reminiscent of the 1980s and 1990s when socialism was the norm. Socialism was the norm in the 1980s because unless you went to Library and read a book that challenged your socialist thinking you’d be forced to swallow everything the Left-leaning media was shoving down your throat.

Well, things have changed, a lot of people are not only reading books, they’re also listening to audios, to Youtube, and to other social media outlets. There are a lot of people who are awake to what’s going on. What’s most interesting are the younger Canadians who are becoming increasingly more conservative, because the Liberals, the socialists aren’t cool anymore. Children like to rebel against authority and all of the sudden Liberals have become the overbearing mothers of the political world.

With that said, what also needs to be noted are the Baby boomers, the elderly, the Leftist who consume mainstream media news like it’s the gospel, these people are fighting like hell for their existence and they’re not going away without a fight because, their jobs, their livelihoods, their power depend on humanity being brainwashed. Why I bring this up is because GM is planning on closing it’s Oshawa plant, now the Oshawa GM plant really isn’t the major problem the major problems are the other businesses who rely on GM. Those businesses are in trouble and that’s going to have a ripple effect in Ontario.

Making matters worse and this was really the nail in the coffin, was Kathleen Wynne minimum wage hike. Now I get it people want more money and they want the government to force employers to pay. I understand all that, I don’t support it, but I understand it, however, the problem with minimum wages is what happens when an industry leaves when an industry leaves and minimum wages are high, there’s nothing of equal value to replace it.

What I mean by this is even though GM workers made more than minimum wages, it doesn’t mean that another company can simply set up shop in the exact same Oshawa plant and pay the workers the exact same amount of money. No, GM had to build its reputation, get a customer base, get guaranteed contracts which allowed their employees to get that pay scale or those pay raises. If a new company replaces GM it has to start from the bottom, if Canadians remember “Target” came into Canada and left just as fast.

It’s the reality of business, it’s the reality of the private sector, it’s the reality of life, nothing is guaranteed, which is why it’s best that a society create an economic atmosphere that’s friendly to business. I’ve said this so many times, if you’re not willing to work for a wage or an amount that you set for yourself, then don’t, but don’t incentivise the government to create a minimum wage, that’s stupid, that’s ridiculous, unions are supposed to a place where the best and brightest go to in order to tell employers that if you want the best workers, work with this labor union, but joining a labor union like joining any other club should be a choice, not a demand or decree made by the government.

The same union leader that of GM was the same union leader that said to Ontarians that minimum wages should be at $20+ per hour. Well, there are consequences for a high minimum wage, it means certain industries don’t exist, can not exist and will never exist in the parts of the country where that minimum wage exists. Unions are special interest groups and they should never dictate government policies. Canada is still operating like we’re in the 1980s and 1990s when people had to go to a Library to learn common sense economics. No, the future for Canada is clear and if Canadians don’t make the tough decision to turn this ship around GM is going to be the least of our worries.

The economic collapse is getting nearer and nearer, now both Alberta and Ontario are in economic trouble. Ontario and Alberta are Canada’s most productive provinces. The Liberals and the NDP have effectively destroyed them both. Leftism, its time has passed, Canadians need choices, need options, need to be allowed to grow the Canadian economy on their own without big mama government telling them what’s acceptable or not.

Are the Liberals to blame for the Oshawa Plant closure? Yes! the writing was on the wall, I went against the grain months ago, saying that instead of tariffs Trudeau should have matched Trumps regulations, I also said that being that BoC was a separate entity from the Government of Canada, Trump could only speculate that Canada was manipulating his currency, I also said that Canada should wait it out until the midterms before signing any new NAFTA deal, but again my strategy was based on Trudeau’s Liberals matching Trumps regulatory environment. The Liberals did none of this, instead the Liberals went Tit-for-tat on Tariffs, increased regulations, promised bailouts for Canadian businesses and when pressured took a horrible USMCA deal that was worse than NAFTA.

The Liberals did all of this because they refused to cut regulations. Business people look at costs, Politicians look at Profits, that’s the difference. In the end, if Canadians continue down this path we’ll have to wait and see the end result.

Interesting times ahead
