If successful ‘TRUTH Social’ Donald Trumps new social media platform, will probably make Regulating Social Media a Priority For Left-Wingers – October 24, 2021,
Like most business people Donald Trump has more failures than successful businesses. If you’re a true entrepreneur, chances are you’ll fail a lot more times than you’ll succeed. I have friends who do advertising on Facebook and they hate Facebook’s recent advertising changes, and Facebook has been on a bit of a decline since Internet Marketers have found fewer reasons to make money with it.
Internet Marketers are typically the group that determines if a platform is a success or a failure. Internet Marketers bring in a constant stream of revenue to platforms and if there’s no profit to be made Internet Marketers will shift their attention elsewhere, which ultimately equates to a platform being rather boring.
Google rose to dominance, primarily because of Google Adsense and Google Adwords, Google Search became profitable with Internet Marketers because Google made them a priority. Internet Marketers aren’t a priority with Bing or Yahoo, which is why fewer dollars are spent by Internet Marketers on these platforms.
Advertising is part of popular culture, if a new gadget or idea comes out that could be lifechanging people want to know about it and if a social media entity is suppressing what some people deem as relevant news to them, not only will the Internet Marketers go away, so will a chunk of their user base.
Now when people don’t have options, then they might flock to the town square out of necessity, but a market economy is all about options and Left-Wing ideologies are all about using the force of Government to limit your options. So one problem with Trump’s’ TRUTH Social’ network is having are hackers and people wishing for its failure.
On the flip side, I know a lot of Internet Marketers who don’t care about politics who are looking at Trumps Network as a great way to make money, because lovers of freedom of speech tend to use platforms that don’t censor them as much, which is also good for professional Internet Marketers because they’ll be able to promote themselves or their products in a manner that would be banned on Left-Wing social media sites.
To be fair, however, I’m not sure Trump’s people even comprehend how important Internet Marketers will be to their platform and because Trump appears to still want to be a politician, he might inadvertently alienate the group that would help his social media network the most.
Currently, Google as which includes YouTube does a pretty good job catering to its advertisers, I personally don’t like Twitter or Facebook I find them to be overly hyped and potentially at risk of a complete collapse in the future. But Google caters to Internet Marketers, I’m not going to claim they’re perfect, but they have a much better business model, with Google Chrome and other subtle things to bring revenue into their coffers.
This will be the challenge of Trumps’ TRUTH Social network. Now I personally find Donald Trump to be a liar when it’s convenient for him, so I assume TRUTH Social will revolve around freedom of speech and freedom of expression. The balancing act Trump will have to play with his social network will be interesting.
Most businesses fail, so I’m not one of those crazy left-wing nuts, that assume every business idea is a success, Trump is not alone with business failures, the reason why many of us want the government to put FEWER regulations on the economy is that having a successful business is EXTREMELY difficult, even without government intervention and regulation.
When you add government regulations to a business, bankruptcy is almost guaranteed, government regulations cause higher prices, higher prices equal a higher cost of living and a higher cost of living due to government means monthly expensive for individuals and companies get higher which will cut into your profit margins.
When the government cuts into your profit margins and offers you no value and additional burdens, the likelihood of your business failing increases. So it will surprise no entrepreneur if this TRUTH Social Network fails, the surprise will be if it’s successful, because if it’s successful based on prior behaviors of Left-wing ideologues, they’re probably going to run to the State to increase regulations on social media.
Ultimately Trump and his opposition are both helping to promote Liberty and Freedom from big government. Trump has triggered something in people that makes them think irrationally and things in this world a cyclical, I can see a world where both Extreme Left Wingers and Trump Supporters are both imagined to be an annoyance for Americans who just want to enjoy their lives free of political nonsense 24/7/365.
