It’s likely there was fraud when they voted in favor of the Union: Amazon workers in NYC reject union in a reversal of fortune – May 3, 2022,

A few months back some Amazon workers in New York managed to form a union, but when I did research on the story a lot of the people who were allowed to vote, were not currently employed by Amazon. I couldn’t confirm the story, so I didn’t write about it, but some important facts about the initial vote to form a Union at Amazon in April 2022. There were 8,325 eligible voters but only 4,785 votes were counted.

There were 2,654 votes in favor of unionizing and 2,131 votes against it by the end of the second and final day of public vote counting on Friday. Out of approximately 8,325 eligible voters, 4,785 votes were counted and another 67 were challenged. Seventeen ballots were voided.

I say this because I know when I used to work at my jobs, I hated the politics, I wouldn’t get involved, I wouldn’t want to get involved unless I absolutely felt like I needed to. What may have happened is that the ELIGIBLE people who didn’t vote the first go around, after meeting the scum bags that would be their new union bosses, probably said to themselves, it’s enough I have an Amazon boss, I don’t need a Union boss with their hands in my pockets.

I know when I did shipping/receiving jobs, it wasn’t my goal to work at that company forever. I merely wanted to make as much money in the shortest period possible so I could eventually find another job. A union is mostly for people who PLAN on staying at a company until they die, or merely like the excitement of standing up against perceived authority figures.

With that said, the article below gives better insight into what actually happened, which appears to revolve around people comprehending that the Unions could see start taking a slice of their paycheck.

-This time around, warehouse workers cast 618 votes — or about 62% — against the union, giving Amazon enough support to fend off a second labor win and raise questions as to whether the first victory was just a fluke.

-Some experts believed part-time workers, who organizers say the smaller facility relies on heavily, would potentially offer less union support because they might have other sources of income outside Amazon.

Was this victory to form a union a fluke? I don’t know, but what I do know is once I knew the union threat was real, I would definitely be exercising not only my right to vote but my right to speak up. I remember being in a company that was looking to unionize and VERBALLY standing up to the people who wanted to form a union, why? Because I want to let the union bosses know that if they formed a union I was going to get my money’s worth out of them.

Meaning I was going to make the Union boss’s life a living hell, I remember telling what would have been my union boss, to his face that if a union was formed I was coming for his job, I let him know I was more popular than him in the company. Now, to be fair, my thing when I was an employee was to intimidate my employer. I worked hard, I know good work is hard to find, I showed up on time, so I took the liberty to intimidate the people in charge of giving me a paycheck, that’s how I negotiated, I had been working since I was 15 years old, if you’re bold enough, you’ll start to notice traits amongst supervisors and managers.

I was always the personality to squeeze as much as I could out of a person. My thinking back then was, okay fine you’re unionizing great, you’re going to compensate me for this oppression. There is no slave in me, if I were to be a slave I’d be the type of slave that would make sure the masters business wasn’t profitable, maybe I’d start a fire, “accidentally” drop some poison in the master’s drink, defecate on the masters’ products, I’m more of a give me liberty or death type of person.

So if you’re going to extort me, expect that I’m going to get some sort of compensation, from you, somewhere down the line. Sorry, went on a bit of a rant there, the mere thought of some union taking a portion of my paycheck to negotiate on my behalf, stripping me of my ability to negotiate on my own behalf really irritates me.

Interesting times ahead!
