John Horgan & the NDP Are Pushing Tax Payers To The Limit – Vancouver commutes just got more expensive with price hikes and tax increases – July 2, 2019,
Growing the size of Government, whether the caused by the Liberal Government or the New Democratic Party gets extremely pricey typically years after their Government spending and Government hiring programs are enforced. The NDP tends to focus on regressive taxation, so their tax laws usually revolve around consumption taxes. Consumption taxes are the reasons why most European countries suffer from rampant stagflation in their economy. An example of regressive taxes from a consumer perspective works like this, ok this: An electronic widget costs $100 before regressive taxation, but after all the regressive taxes are added at a minimum in Canada, the consumer will pay $113 so instead of $100 the consumer has to fork out an additional $13, these sorts of taxes when you start to combine them with almost every purchase you make start to add up.
Now, making matters worse with these regressive taxes is that political party’s like the NDP and Liberals assume that when consumers pay these taxes will little complaint, that there’s wiggle room for the NDP not only to grow the size of the Government but to also add additional taxes. Now, common sense would tell you that a Carbon tax isn’t going to help save the environment, however, if it’s sold to voters in fear-mongering tone, especially Young voter or ignorant voters who believe that Politicians are always telling them the truth, they’ll get suckered into paying additional regressive taxes, for the sake of saving mother earth.
Taxation is theft, but more than just that, taxation gives rise to unionized public servants. Cutting the size of the Public Workforce is called Austerity measures and if you bring up Austerity measures to most ignorant people, they’ll go crazy, why? Because the assumption by many Canadians is that the Government doesn’t waste money, every tax is justified, because these taxes are going to the greater good of society. This is thinking of most Leftists, they don’t see how the Public Sector destroys entire societies. You can’t print your way out of a public sector workforce. In most instances, Unionized public sector workers have a paycheck and a pension that keeps up with inflation.
Now, because the world economy is basically on life support, people forget there’s near zero percent interest rates isn’t normal, what’s beginning to happen not only in Canada but in other place is the government workforces are so large and the Private Sector that feeds them is getting so small, that with every tax hike, especially regressive tax hikes, the consumers are feeling the pinch more and more. Now, there’s an easy fix for this, called raising interest rates, but raising interest rates in a free enterprise system actually equates to a deflation in prices, which in a free market could also mean deflation in wages, but you see it’s damn near impossible to fire a Government employee and even f you do usually they’ll be replaced with another government employee who will soon be making the same income is the retired or fired employee. Worst than this and what’s often ignored are income taxes.
When private sector companies either raise their hiring standards or stop hiring the government gets fewer income taxes. When the government often talks about the Rich not paying their fair share of taxes, it’s usually because the government miscalculates income taxes, if hiring is stalled or if new companies aren’t created because the government made the cost of living too high, projected income and sales taxes fall. This is a common sense of course, but common sense isn’t common in Government, because most politicians don’t understand the tax code and they don’t understand the business community.
Humans and this includes employees aren’t going to work just to fulfill an ideology a politician like NDP Premier John Horgan sold to gullible voters. People forget most businesses have to raise money or borrow money to keep their business afloat a lot of Canadian business have to answer to their shareholders, which sometimes is family members. Now ask yourself this question how does a husband or wife with a business sell a concept to their spouse that they paid additional taxes that they didn’t legally have to pay, for John Horgan’s causes? How dumb would that sound? I know employees who refuse to work overtime because they’ll pay more incomes. Why subject yourself to higher taxation when the Public Sector has Labor Unions representing it?
Now, in Vancouver prices have gone up, why? Because the Government gives itself a pay raise when it gets more money, that’s how this works, the Public Sector aren’t machines their selfish centered humans who want to make more money for the same amount of work. 7% minimum taxes on the consumption side and up to 12.29% Provincial income taxes for their labor? Of course in the Public sector’s mind, there’s an unlimited amount of money extract from taxpayers. It should be noted as businesses stop hiring or claim they can’t find the right talent, the money they were expecting is then borrowed into existence and generations unborn have to pay for the public servant’s paychecks now and when they retire.
The NDP is pushing taxes to their limits while at the same time raising prices for doing the exact same work. In the business worked this is incompetence and would lead to bankruptcy, in government, however, this is just business as usual.
