Clearly, Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor were imprisoned because The U.S. Justice Department forced Canada into detaining Meng Wanzhou. Happy for their release, anyone doing business in or planning to visit China, should keep a record of this event as they might find themselves political prisoners for something they have absolutely no control over. The trumped-up charges levied on Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor but the Chinese justice system were clearly made up as they had no problem releasing Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor once Meng Wanzhou was released.
