One of the problems with cradle-to-grave welfare is that it incentivizes people NOT to take economics, or financial education seriously. Welfare, by the way, doesn’t simply include government welfare; t also includes parents with a lot of money who SPOIL their children.
The emergence of the modern-day far left revolves around horrible fathers like Pierre Trudeau and Joe Biden, who produce these Justin Trudeau types. If you think Justin Trudeau is the only spoiled brat, in a position of power, you’re fooling yourself, I grew up in a MIDDLE CLASS Toronto neighborhood, and when I was growing up it was fashionable for parents to spoil their children way back then.
The people I grew up with could be grandparents now, so we’re talking about multiple generations of individuals living in Canada, who imagine that “The budget will balance itself.”
People on the Left don’t believe economics or financial education are important; National and Democratic socialists are waiting for the “perfect” time to take over the entire economy; that’s their schtick; the end justifies the means with these types of people, I grew up with them, many of them have a “hero” complex.

The hero complex is totalitarianism; for example, currently, a lot of leftists genuinely believe that the GOVERNMENT should take over the GLOBAL economy and force its will on everyone.
If you’re a naive Conservative, you’re asking yourself why, but I’m reminded that a lot of people in general are either not very good parents or don’t have any children. The adolescent mind doesn’t weigh the pros and cons; when the adolescent mind thinks about the future, it disregards all the negatives and focuses on the positives.
It’s similar to the young person who wants to be a celebrity; now, for persons like myself, being a public figure is a LIABILITY, whereas others only see the plus side. There’s a reason why a lot of people in the public end up with serious mental issues.

When you’re a public figure, everyone wants something from you, and most people don’t care about you, which is what many public figures figure out later in life. Why I bring this up is because if your life revolves around trying to appease a certain type of person, you inevitably become divisive, and this is exactly why CENTRALIZATION is a dumb idea.
Most economies in the world are bad because the inhabitants are incentivized to act badly. In China, for example, their economy has quirks because property rights are limited in China, so you get a lot of people within China who do not care about anything, a lot of suicides, or people trying to sabotage the economy.
Freedom revolves around property rights, and when the government attacks property rights, it creates division. Justin Trudeau is by far the most divisive Prime Minister in Canadian history, but I’m uncertain if he understands why.
It’s the economy stupid if I’m working and the government is taking a larger chunk of my hard-earned money only to give it to people or legal entities he imagines are more worthy of my capital and these Trudeau-preferred entities end up being corrupt individuals or institutions and Trudeau and his cabinet do this repeatedly, even if you I don’t have financial education or basic comprehension of basic math, I will see the Prime Minister as divisive and/or incompetent.
If you’re going to redistribute money as the Prime Minister, you’re making the claim that you’re more efficient with my money than I am. Now, when Trudeau seeks to rebrand the carbon tax rebates because he thinks we’re too stupid to understand the benefits, it’s a clear sign that Trudeau still believes that “The budget will balance itself.”
