Laurentian Bank ending teller services at nearly all branches as of Monday, July 22, 2019,

I’ve heard about CIBC phasing out bank tellers, but this comes off as a bit of a shocker. Firstly I don’t know too much about Laurentian Bank I personally don’t do my banking with them but think about this for a moment Canada’s seventh-largest bank is phasing out bank tellers? Is this an isolated incident, or is this going to be the new normal, because if it is, similar to what’s going on in Sweden regarding their citizens basically phasing out the use of Cash, the case for a decentralized currency becomes even greater?

I’m unsure of how long the dumbing down of the public will work, but a simple concept to understand about digital money, especially centralized government fiat money is that similar to what’s already happened in China, via their social credit score system, the Government can essentially shut off your money, it’s a hard concept to grasp if you share the far left Liberal views of a country like Sweden, but as an example in Canada, in late 2018 Trudeau defended Statistics Canada’s move to collect banking info of 500,000 Canadians now, this stuff happens incrementally, but it amazes me that it’s happening at all.

From my perspective this plays into the hands of decentralized currencies, the problem with decentralized currencies, however, is that they’re already being banned in certain countries. Zimbabwe as an example refuses to allow Bitcoin to function in their economy, but it makes you think that emerging barter systems could be making a push for dominance in the very near future. It’s only a matter of time before countries like China and India and continents like Africa start to question dictatorships. India’s a democracy, but there are protections that prevent their economy from flourishing, in Africa, it’s getting increasingly obvious that leadership is the problem and in America, I personally think Donald Trump embodies that the world is looking for a change in governance. We’ll see, but I’ll tell you what, if all the major banks in Canada did what Laurentian Bank just did I would definitely change me banking patterns.
