Liberal Party of Canada Using $1.3 Billion in tariff revenue to buy Votes. Will the Canadian Steel and aluminum sectors buy-in? – August 3, 2019,
As is the case with Modern-day Liberals, instead of at least appearing to be for the poor, the modern-day Liberals are Corporatists, using the captains of industry to push their regressive taxation measures forward. The Canadian economy is heavily dependent on tariffs to protect industries in Canada, this relationship between Government and big industry is important to Canada’s bloated Public Sector because without a thriving private Sector the pubic sector in Canda will be broke and forced to borrow money from a Crown Corporation known as the Bank of Canada.
The Bank of Canada has to pay close attention to global markets and the value of the Canadian dollar, solvency of the Canadian consumer is also very important to Canada’s standing as an economic powerhouse. Unfortunately, the Liberals appear to be blinded by what money can and can’t do. By that I mean Justin Trudeau’s Liberal appears to be uneducated to who actually pays for Tariffs. One of the main reasons the cost of living in Canada is so high revolves around tariffs at the U.S-Canada border. Canadian consumers pay for tariffs, part of the reasons costs go up at grocery stores for imported and even domestically made goods, revolves around Canada’s lack of competition because of tariffs at the U.S Canada border.
If a person shops at Amazon.com(The U.S Version of Amazon) blended into the pricing at check out and you can see this for yourself, you’ll see something called “Import Fees Deposit” why? because Canada charges tariffs for almost everything that’s imported from the United States. This “Import Fees Deposit” money collected goes to the Federal government and the Canadian consumer pays the bill, not the American seller.
Because Donald Trump who calls himself the tariff king, people who are uneducated about how the tariff tax works, have a hard time comprehending the differences behind Canada’s tariff system and Trump’s tariff system. When Trump became President of the United States one of the first things that happened was he cut a lot of regulations, in Canada that opposite has happened, in Canada, as an example there is now a Gender-Balanced Workplace regulation in Canada. This added regulation is a strain on Canada’s private and public sector because this affirmative action type regulation doesn’t necessarily mean that an employer is going to be able to hire the best and brightest person for the job, an employer may now have to meet a government quota, to be even allowed to run a business in Canada.
Because Trump decided to start a tariff war, he made sure that the U.S economy was competitive by slashing regulations, Trudeau’s approach was idiotic, what they did is they added regulations and went tit-for-tat on tariffs, sure this is filling government coughers with more money, but this also helping to fuel unaffordability problems in Canada. CBC does a horrible job in the article below, I understand CBC is biased towards the Liberal Party of Canada, but at the very least they could educate the Canadian public.
CONSUMERS PAY FOR TARIFFS, In America Trump has been raising tariffs on China and in retaliation, China is not only putting tariffs on U.S made goods, China is also devaluing their currency, in response, Trump is pushing for a reciprocal trade act in response, this is how proper negotiations amongst high economic IQ people are made. The Liberals simply getting money from tariffs and picking economic winners and losers with the collected revenue in hopes of buying votes is going to cause a serious recession in this country. Anyway, I’m not wasting any more time on this topic as the thought of what Trudeau’s Liberals are doing to harm this economy has me feel extremely emotional.
