The current Prime Minister is playing a very dangerous game. As stated on multiple occasions throughout this blog, on paper, Mark Carney could be the most authoritarian Prime Minister in Canadian history. While I don’t speak for any provincial leader, it’s evident that most premiers across Canada have developed their own strategies for retaining power. Given the visible corruption and incompetence in Ottawa—and the average Canadian’s unwillingness to even consider secession—a new movement appears to be forming: the early stages of what I call “The Autonomous Regions of Canada.”
Radical Change and Canada’s Apathy
Radical change is frightening. In the United States, Joe Biden’s presidency represented such a shift, prompting voters to abandon him within a single term. The American electorate has since moved on from his administration altogether.
The United States still broadly adheres to Judeo-Christian values. Americans recognize Donald Trump’s flaws but also understand his purpose. In contrast, Canada has become increasingly secular, embracing socialism over Christian values. Economically, this has translated into an overwhelming cultural dependence on the welfare state.
The welfare state and Judeo-Christian principles are fundamentally incompatible. The welfare model is inherently parasitic—it inevitably leads to censorship. Most Canadians think censorship is about money, but for many on the far left, the goal is to replace Judeo-Christian values entirely. For them, the ends justify the means.
Carney’s Beliefs and the Culture Clash
I don’t know Mark Carney personally—his faith in God is unclear. However, I have seen him wear a t-shirt comparing a hockey player to Jesus Christ. That alone is deeply concerning. I’ve also seen entertainers like Puff Daddy and 2Pac make similar comparisons in the past—and we all know how those stories ended.
Mocking God is not something I would take lightly. In Islam, blasphemy could mean death. So when people ask, “What’s the endgame for the Left?”—I laugh. Christians know that evil exists, and Scripture teaches us that we must choose to serve God voluntarily. But when God’s people abandon Him in favor of idols, disaster follows. This theme appears over and over again in the Bible.
Carney’s Opportunism and the Shift to Autonomy
Carney appears to be playing both sides. When I watch him speak, I can’t help but feel that he sees the office of Prime Minister as a joke. Can you blame him? He returned to Canada, won the Liberal leadership in record time, and became Prime Minister within two months.
He’s even told Europeans that he considers himself “European.” Every time he speaks, he adapts his message to please the room he’s in. That’s a smart strategy during a honeymoon phase—but I’m giving him a six-month window to prove whether he’s lying or if he truly intends to push Canada into an ESG-driven, highly regulated economic regime.
Which brings us to Alberta Premier Danielle Smith. From where I sit, she’s leading the charge toward what I’ve labeled “The Autonomous Regions of Canada.” In practice, this could mean putting an end to unconditional financial transfers to Ottawa.
Alberta’s Dilemma: Talk vs. Action
Until Alberta establishes its own police force and pension plan, secession talk isn’t serious. The RCMP still patrol the roads, and municipal police forces are still under federal oversight. If Albertans truly believe Ottawa won’t respond aggressively to a declaration of independence, they’re either naive or atheists—thinking money alone will inspire a revolution.
No secession movement can succeed without a spiritual awakening. This can’t just be about money. After all, Alberta still operates using the Canadian dollar.
What may emerge instead are autonomous regions that openly ignore federal legal tender laws, collect their own taxes, and even allow salaries in U.S. dollars. If Carney continues down a European-style governance path, it’s worth remembering that most U.S. dollars exist outside of America—a system known as the Eurodollar market.
The U.S. Connection and the Rise of Regional Alliances
Fractional reserve banking and cash-flow-based lending dominate the current global financial system. If Canada’s fiscal balance sheet collapses, U.S. banks are unlikely to lend here. On top of that, U.S. sanctions could cripple us if our national policies are seen as misaligned with American interests.
That said, Alberta is currently in America’s best interest. Americans may avoid foreign political entanglements, but they are open to bilateral trade agreements—particularly with autonomous regions that respect free enterprise.
I believe we’re seeing such a structure forming organically in Canada. I doubt it will formally be called “The Autonomous Regions of Canada,” but the trend is undeniable.
These regions may no longer send transfer payments to Ottawa without proportional representation. They may even oppose the Conservative Party if they believe its leadership is tone-deaf. Based on my analysis of Pierre Poilievre, his greatest achievement might have been de-escalating censorship. But that’s not enough in the current climate.
Freedom of Speech Must Be Defended
Whether or not Canadians vote themselves into bankruptcy isn’t my primary concern. History shows nations often do. My core concern is freedom of speech.
Socrates was executed for daring to criticize democracy. Ancient Greece banned speech that offended the public—just as we see censorship rising today. But freedom of speech is a Judeo-Christian value, essential for human growth. Without the liberty to express ourselves, how can we confront our faults or seek redemption?
When low-information commentators criticize Israel, for example, and Israelis quietly smile, it’s not submission—it’s restraint. They know the power of their God. As Christians, we should too.
To those still trying to understand the endgame of the far left: stop wasting time. Turn to Yeshua. Consider accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior today.
