I wanted to piggyback off what my colleague wrote in a previous post as it relates to Chinese electric vehicles entering the Canadian marketplace. I want my readers to remember that NAFTA, or what we in Canada know as CUSMA, is up for renegotiation in 2026, and Mark Carney has given away Canada’s leverage twice.
China, Taiwan, and Trade Leverage
China will now flood Canada’s marketplace with Chinese junk EVs, and to make matters worse, Donald Trump now has additional leverage in NAFTA renegotiations. This is because China intends to take Taiwan. Trump is trying to position America away from being trapped in that conflict by bringing chip manufacturing back to the United States and lessening America’s dependence on Taiwan, while still providing “protection” for Taiwan.
Ford says EV deal with China will be ‘terrible’ for Ontarians, auto sector
Now Trump will also have to worry about Canada, America’s northern neighbor, flooding the United States with Chinese made electric vehicles. I would also be concerned for Canadians who drive into the U.S. It would not surprise me in the least if America outright bans certain Chinese made vehicles in Canada from being driven into the United States.
Border Risks for Canadian Drivers
Meaning, if you buy a Chinese made car and attempt to drive it into the U.S., you may be stopped at the border and told by a U.S. government officer that you are not allowed to enter the country with that vehicle. That would not surprise me at all. This also ties into what was written in a prior article about auto insurance premiums rising in Canada, because insurance companies already view EVs as too expensive to repair.
This is why you hear people talking about autonomous vehicles replacing human drivers. Together it is chaos, and with EVs it is even more destructive. If a lithium battery has a problem, the vehicle is often useless. Additionally, the software tied to these EVs means that even a minor accident can destroy sensors connected to complex systems, something insurance companies do not want to deal with because they do not want multiple insurance claims tied to a single vehicle.
Insurance Costs Shift to the Public
What will happen is that these insurance costs will be passed on to all consumers in that province. In provinces like British Columbia and Saskatchewan, where auto insurance is government run, that means the costs are ultimately passed on to taxpayers.
This deal is stupid on many levels. That is why I say atheism shows Christians why Christ is King. Atheists, and what I call fake Christians, are short sighted. They imagine that Christians are interchangeable with every other people and culture. They are not. Once you allow atheists and other religious groups to change your culture, they begin implementing their short sighted thinking.
Final Warning
Consider making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior today.
