More SHRINKFLATION Coming to Canada: Grocery chains promising more discounts, price freezes to stabilize food costs, according to François-Philippe Champagne – September 5, 2023
Typically, whenever the Federal Government claims “victory” against grocery stores, you should be expecting shrinkflation. Shrinkflation is smaller quantities for the same cost. Imagine getting 2 apples for what you used to pay for 3 apples, and don’t be surprised if those 2 apples are SMALLER in size.
For grocers, this is an easier way to avoid politics. As everyone knows, consumer price inflation is the result of Justin Trudeau’s war on fossil fuels and his overall Environmental, Social, and Governance(ESG) agenda.
When I was growing up, we all knew environmentalists were for the most part LAZY protestors, but in the modern era, younger voters see these lazy folks as heroes. In order to prove yourself as an actual environmentalist when I was growing up, you’d have to provide viable ALTERNATIVES because a protestor is just that, “a protestor.” they’re not solving anything; they’re protesting, but ZIRP(Zero Interest Rate Policy) helped to finance a lot of these otherwise bankrupt companies, with government contracts, which is what ESG is all about.
As I’ve stated in plenty of prior posts, I’m NOT an Elon Musk fan; I don’t care if he’s now a Conservative; most of his wealth is derived via fighting for ESG, maybe he didn’t imagine the ESG monster he created would come for freedom of speech, but he’s part of the CORPORATE welfare crowd, that ESGers are trying to make permanent.
Most people imagined that interest rates would be stuck at zero forever, which is why ESG got this major push, but interest rates are rising, because ESG is EXPENSIVE to implement across the entire economy; simply subsidizing Tesla, inc. was expensive, but that was only one company, well now there are THOUSANDS of these ESG companies that are UNPROFITABLE without government subsidies and because more fossil fuel related products have to now be IMPORTED to avoid DOMESTIC regulations, OPEC+ Russia all of sudden has greater control over the energy markets, and fossil fuels like it or not help to grow and DELIVER our food.
Now, most grocery stores don’t want to fight with the government, because most Canadians, when it comes to the economy are MENTALLY RETARDED. If you’re unaware even per capita, far fewer Canadians than Americans have a business, meaning that the average Canadian likely can’t comprehend how important fiscal policy is, to consumer prices.
What is FISCAL policy?
In economics and political science, fiscal policy is the use of government revenue collection and expenditure to influence a country’s economy.
In the province of Manitoba, the voters voted for the NDP(a socialist political Party), the Leader of the NDP who won, as a campaign promise, PROMISED to raise prices, but because enough voters there are financially ILLITERATE, they voted for him anyway.
Anyway, you’d be wise to prepare for shrinkflation, which is a smart way for grocery stores to hide inflation. Those of you who are dumb enough to want the government to do something about Shrinkflation, what comes after shrinkflation if grocery stores can’t make a profit are SHORTAGES of things.
Imagine that when you went to work, you didn’t get paid, would you go back to work? Well, apply that same thinking to the grocery stores, in most third-world countries PRICE CONTROLS or getting the government to destroy profits or profit motives are the root causes of POVERTY. I get it capitalism isn’t perfect, but people are driven by PROFIT MOTIVES, and if there’s profit to be made, they will simply stop selling to you, and Canada only has 40 million people; the world wouldn’t barely notice if our currency collapse or if our standard of living dropped drastically, so you’d better get used to and love paying more for smaller quantities.
Interesting times ahead!
