Municipalities and Municipal Voters are The ROOT Cause of Housing Shortages In Canada: Why Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh Will Make The Housing Situation WORSE – October 6, 2023
I’ve been watching some of the Pierre Poilievre attack videos on Justin Trudeau, and most of them are warranted; Justin Trudeau has been the WORST Prime Minister in the History of Canada if you can think about this for a moment; not only did Justin Trudeau in 30s WEAR racist black face masks, he took things a step further and members of his cabinet brought an actual Nazi(Yaroslav Hunka) to the Parliament to receive two standing ovations.
Really let that sink in for a moment because one has to ask if that was accidental or if it was INCOMPOTENCE. It should be pointed out that initially the now disgraced Anthony Rota, didn’t want to step down, likely because he wasn’t the culprit, but again you have to ask yourself, was this INCOMPETENCE or accidental, because these are the idiots, some Canadians want to FIX the housing market.
In the minds of most Canadians, they imagine that the FEDERAL government is better suited to fix the housing problems when in actuality, it’s the fault of LOCAL governments why there’s a FAKE, MANUFACTURED housing shortage problem to begin with.
Why is the housing shortage problem FAKE and manufactured? First and foremost, rent prices are up because of LOCAL regulations on housing. What am I talking about? Well, in most cities and towns in Canada, not only are there rent controls, there are also additional regulations on what qualifies you to be a landlord.

Making matters worse if a renter stops paying rent, the process to kick them out is a long, drawn-out process, which many tenants RIGHTFULLY abuse. When someone doesn’t want to pay their rent, they’ll make up anything to justify it. Although Western society was built on Christian MORALITY, being a Christian is OPTIONAL; therefore, adhering to Christian morality is also optional.
So most landlords or newly trained landlords areWARNED ahead of time, about making sure that they properly VET tenants. What this equates to is fewer people who would otherwise rent space in homes, not willing to do it.

There are a lot of EMPTY condos as an example all over Canada, the Canadian housing market is filled with flippers, and if let’s say, I build rental-purposed housing, I’m going to charge market rent, and I’d likely NOT take up the government on any offer they have to pay me to house their tenants, because although the immediate cash windfall might large, in the long-term likely I will be slapped with PRICE caps on what I can charge tenants.
So at best what you get if the government pays the private sector to build housing, are some doing so for a potential tax write-off or some taking the risk to build housing in order to flip it later?
At best, all Justin Trudeau can do is THROW money at this problem, his latest idea is to take off the GST, which likely would equate to price hikes for materials because GST is a regressive tax; as a business person myself, whenever I buy anything, I include the GST as part of the price, which equates to my decision if a purchase is worth it.
Although upfront costs are important, what’s more important to a business person are long-term LIABILITIES. As an example, if I rent out my house and I get a disgruntled tenant, I already have to factor in legal costs, destruction to my property which I can’t recoup in the courts, and advertising to replace the tenant with another tenant that would have the ability to pay market rent.
Now, once you get into the topic of MARKET rent, that equates to your tenant having OPTIONS because if a tenant can afford to pay market rent, that tenant will be in high demand by other landlords because that’s how the MARKET works.
The issue with housing now is that people can’t afford to get into the housing market, and that problem exists primarily because of municipal governments; every single law and regulation on housing equates to HIGHER prices for tenants.
If you’re not paying attention to the point I’m making, it’s that housing developers, realtors, real estate investors, landlords, and investors in general do the math LONG before they invest and this determines the MARKET price.
If I’m renting out my apartment in say a Toronto, I’m already anticipating that I’m going to LOSE the court battle if the tenant destroys my property and refuses to pay rent during the winter, that’s already built into the price I’m charging for rent.
Now if you’re the Federal government and you’re imagining that you can micromanage this problem, you’re an idiot! Because this is as I like to point out a voter problem, it’s an entitlement problem it’s a low financial voter IQ problem, it’s a democracy problem.
These problems should have been fixed DECADES ago, but schools refuse to implement financial education, instead opting for POLITICAL education. Currently, you have LGBT rights being a PRIORITY in schools, while there’s a housing shortage problem.
Why is there a housing shortage problem? Well, last time I checked, even if you’re in government housing, you have to pay rent, so if you even have to pay rent in government housing(via the taxpayer, ofcourse), why wouldn’t teaching children about fiscal policies and finances be a priority and don’t give me, financial education is boring because there are a lot of BORING subjects being taught in schools.

There’s no way you can even convince me that some kids don’t find “drag queen story hour” as boring. Drag Queens can’t even entertain adults, there’s little to no demand for Drag Queens in the broader free market.
The Federal government getting involved in housing is a disaster waiting to happen, and that’s regardless if it’s Liberals or Conservatives.
Interesting times ahead!
