Ocasio-Cortez ’60 Minutes’ interview discussions – January 8, 2019,

Personally, I think Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is an attractive lady with a lot of energy, that’s a pretty good representation of Leftist U.S. Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district, which includes the eastern part of the Bronx and part of north-central Queens. Based on my interactions with New Yorkers in these regions, she does speak for them, a lot of supposedly poor people are looking for easy answers, namely external easy answers, like forcing other people to pay 70% taxes so the government can inefficiently redistribute money and resources to people and entities it considers most worthy.

Sure, in theory, socialism and Marxism sounds great, it’s only when put into practice that socialist flaws come to light. What you tend to get with socialist thinkers is that socialism isn’t being implemented correctly, socialists will often use particular European nations as examples of socialism working, the problem with this type of thinking is of course that socialism only works anywhere because of free market capitalism. Even in Marxist China, the Chinese government had to create Free market zones in order to generate any wealth, China today is actually in a position whereby most of the citizens see the Chinese Communist Party is in the way of progress. Being that most of the Chinese want peace and the Communist Party is known for mass murder, the people of China save intensely hoping to make enough money to move as far away from China as possible.

Now, socialism is derived from Marxism, in theory, socialism sounds like a great idea to adolescent minds who believe humans are like robots and all want the same things, it’s when socialism is put into practice that you start seeing that winners and losers are chosen by the government or the ruling class. This is actually common throughout history, any society with a ruling class has used some sort of doctrine to keep the people subservient to the ruling class. Now to implement a 70% tax on any person means that there’d have to be a ruling class, who’s the beneficiary of this 70% tax.

Sure, we can call the beneficiaries of the 70% a representative of the people, but they’d be a representative of the majority of people, not the minority and this is where picking winners and losers using socialism gets complicated, because a 70% tax, taxes in general are price controls. Prior to the creation of minimum wages and the welfare state, it wasn’t really common for people to get a guaranteed paycheck. Prior to people migrating to cities, the majority of the citizens of the United States were actually by today’s standards self-employed or private contractors.

During these times it was damn near impossible to tax people or for the government to get as large as it is today and this was of course why the governments weren’t as bold as to push for taxation without representation. Being that a lot of people in the modern era, which still baffles me in the information age opt for wage slavery over self-employment it’s only natural that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s socialism push would resonate with so many Americans. Now, take the time to listen to or watch the Young Turks video below, notice how they omit money from the conversation?

Leftists, namely extreme leftists tend not to understand the concept of barter. Money isn’t a problem in free market society, if you talk to most rich people, they’ll tell you it’s not about the money. But then you’d say, well why don’t you give up your money? Well, if I give all my money to any person or entity what happens to my family and my business? Furthermore what incentive is there for me to provide any services to anyone? In Venezuela it’s important to know that a lot of business people loved the idea of socialism, it wasn’t until the government started using business people, including the small business people as the cause for Venezuela’s poverty that the businesses in Venezuela started to disappear.

I’m sure by now a lot of people learned that Venezuela’s for years stopped manufacturing Tampons and toilet paper, thus making Venezuela 100% dependent on imports, which of course put a lot of pressure on their Petro currency to maintain it’s value. Once the push for cleaning fuel happened, Venezuela’s petrodollar collapsed, worst than their petrodollar collapsing were the Venezuelan anti-free market policies that are still enforced now, that don’t allow anyone to fix Venezuela’s internal economic problems. Money, paper money, Gold, silver, wheat, powerful armies, regardless of what your money is based on, if your country has the wrong policies in place, meaning your country is anti-freedom or against Freedom and/or flexibility in the economy you’re country will be doomed to fail.

A violation of a person’s rights is a violation of a person right, you don’t make a group of people more responsible to society as a whole just because they’ve managed to garner more wealth than everyone else. Majority of the time people are rich because they’re were incentivized and protected by the ruling classes, which could be Kings and Queens or governments. If you want to talk about Native Americans as an example, their way of life was destroyed because of big government, who set up rules and regulations that limited their freedom. This event in history is something to learn from, not something to duplicate.

You want people to have freedom and people can’t have freedom if society opts for a government that hand picks winners and losers. If this system as we know it should fail, we don’t want it to fail with a big government. China and Russia have big governments and because of this, people have little to no way of fighting back. Saudi Arabia has a big government, their royal class picks winners and losers. many parts of socialist Central and Western European nations pick winners and losers, how often do you hear of Puerto Rican becoming a millionaire in Spain? It’s more common for a so-called minority to make a fortune in the United States than it is any other place around the globe. This even includes the U.K, even if you want to talk about per-capita. African Americans, if they were a nation, would be richer than most European nations around the globe. This is due to free markets, not socialism.

So I get it, socialism sounds nice in theory, big government sounds nice in theory, but let it be known that without the free market zones in China, China would be bankrupt, the majority of China’s central planning schemes have failed, there are ghost cities in China because the government got it wrong, there is religious prosection in China, because the Chinese communist party is fearful of an uprising. Russia’s economy struggles to grow because Russia although abandoning full-blown Marxism still has a government that micro-manages the affairs of its citizens.

Now, despite what many people think of Trump, why haven’t socialist nations dumped the U.S dollar? Why haven’t most of them said enough with this American monopoly? The reason is currently America still has one of the largest freest markets in the world. People gravitate to freedom, not too big governments. Lastly, before calling anyone a racist, what more people should do more of is travel across the globe, there are a lot of racist and prejudice nations all over the globe, that are rarely written or talked about because there’s little to no wealth in those big government nations to confiscate.

Interesting times ahead.
