Ontario Canada Can’t Handle Austerity Measures: Rallies and events held around Ontario to protest legal aid cuts – July 30, 2019,
So yeah, sometimes I have to remind myself how large the Provincial and Federal governments are in Canada and how much money is being extracted from the Private Sector to pay for all of this crap. First off I had to reeducate myself on how large the Legal aid system was so just for clarification:
There are 72 legal clinics and seven student legal aid services societies across Ontario. These clinics mainly focus on:
- Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program
- disputes between tenants and landlords
- social housing matters
- Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, Guaranteed Income Supplement
- wrongful dismissal and other employment issues
So yeah, Doug Ford has been trying to be fiscally responsible but as is the case with the Conservative Party, they’re simply too nice and not honest enough about the severity of our debt problem. I can’t blame Canadians for assuming that there’s an unlimited supply of money to pay for Legal Aid programs. Economics is a boring subject and even though the cost of living for taxpayers who pay more into the system than they’re getting out continues to rise, which ultimately will make every poor and eventually force the austerity measures debate, right now, Ontarians look around and there are paved roads, electricity, heating, and air conditioning a surplus of food not only at grocery stores but at food banks, easy access to debt and basically everything on the surface looks fantastic, so how dare Doug Ford make cutbacks. Kathleen Wynne never made cutbacks, why is that Hitler demon Doug Ford making cuts?
Doesn’t he know that I’m entitled to all of these welfare programs? If Doug Ford keeps cutting back my welfare I’ll vote him out and put in someone who will give me the money and resources I’ve convinced myself I’m entitled too. Is Canada ready for Austerity measures? LOL, I doubt it, I don’t even think the average Canadian understands how bad things are. On almost every single Global Debt metric Canada shows up.
The markets are fleeing Canada as a destination for investment. There’s also this crazy Trump character who is the current U.S President, not the problem that might hit the world is a global currency crisis. Now, currencies are never the real problem, the problem with most countries revolves around Public Sector debt!
How much debt is your government in? If your government is in too much debt, expect fewer investments. I doubt people clamoring for more welfare understand the severity of the problem that the Ontario economy is in. Trudeau increased the Federal deficit, the interest just to service that debt is increasing, the Province of Ontario is a have-not province, meaning our province is on welfare, Ontario actually has more debt than the State of California.
If it weren’t for equalization payments, Ontario’s economy would probably have tents cities also. Doug Ford is trying to clean this up, but if Ontarians think everything is okay and they’d rather fight for more Welfare and hire another leftist politician, well a reminder that the Canadian economy has crashed before and when there really is no money, The Welfare you think is not enough now will shrink even more. Doug Ford is actually doing what he can to save Legal Aid, he could have simply cut some of these programs entirely, a friendly reminder to people who feel entitled to Legal Aid ONTARIO IS BANKRUPT!
