Ontario Canada’s Basic Income Pilot Cancelled By Minister Lisa MacLeod – August 1, 2018

Personally I’ve never been against a basic income, however, if Canadians get a basic income I want all of the other welfare programs in Canada abolished, I want all these unnecessary government social service workers, working in the private sector and I want a more efficiently run health care system. If you’re asking me if I’m willing to trade Basic Income with all the other welfare programs out there I’ll say sign me up now. But you know what the problem with a Basic Income is? Why work when you don’t have too?

Venezuela used to be one of the richest countries in South America, that is until socialism took root. Now socialism doesn’t destroy a nation right away, it’s a gradual thing, in order for socialism to function, the first thing that’s needed is capitalism and the free market to create the wealth so the government has something to confiscate. Once the government and the believers of redistribution economics feel there’s enough wealth then they’ll institute a socialist government. Now, what socialism does to people in a society is it creates laziness. Now, let me point out that not everyone in a socialist utopia is lazy, many of them are very hardworking.

But, in a capitalist or a free market society if an individual is lazy the results of his/her laziness is recognized and punished almost immediately. In a socialist society, a lazy person could actually be the most admired person in the community. Because as long as that lazy person is born in the early stages of socialism they might be able to live their entire lives without doing any work. The effects of this permeate society as younger generations see adults basically not working their entire lives. Children and teens learn from their elders and often repeat what they observe, what’s worse is that lazy people typically have children, lots of children and they often make horrible parents, who don’t believe in grooming their children to be productive citizens.

Lazy parents often have lazy attitudes towards raising their children, which often leads to millions of children growing up with no foundation or moral compass. While this is happening in a socialist utopia, the business people or the productive people of a society are often the individuals most ridiculed. How dare that person make so much money while the rest of us are over here relaxing. How dare that business person buys more things than the rest of us. You know what we the socialist people are going to do. We’re going to tell the government to put more restrictions on those evil, wicked, destructive, productive hardworking business people. In a socialist democratic utopic society, that’s what the people will do and the government will be happy to deliver it to them.

But what happens then? What happens when the government puts more and more restraints on the business community? What happens is those businesses cease to exist and worse still is that the skills of those people evaporate and before you know it Venezuela has to import toilet paper, has to import food, and basic things to keep their economy afloat. What’s never understood about this is that it’s a gradual thing, it doesn’t happen right away and when it happens it’s a very hard problem to correct because by then the people don’t have a historical reference of what free market capitalism is and what it does.

So to even explain to the people that we have to allow some capitalism into our economy may incite a war. so a politician will have tiptoe around the issue and it’s this type of thinking why many countries in Africa have a hard time being developed. Too many countries outside the western world, capitalism is nothing more than another form of Imperialism. These countries are very reactionary towards any form of governance that resembles that of America, yet many of their people are given the opportunity would migrate to America in a heartbeat. The people that wouldn’t want to leave these socialist paradises are often the very rich and very powerful.

But when you grow up in a great society like Canada you’re often spoiled by the amount of competition we have. in actuality had it not been for some many regulations Canada would be far richer than any nation on this planet, because geographically especially in a world where energy rules and our population is so small the truth is every Canadian citizen right now, if our country was governed better could easily be making $200,000 a year with a much lower cost of living.

What I’m writing is not fictional it’s factual the reason why Canada has any poverty revolves around the wrong kind of thinking plus Unions and unnecessary regulations in the Canadian economy. I’ve always challenged the false notion that Canada should have a weak dollar next to the United States. This is beyond stupid, Canada in many ways should be attracting the best talent from all across the world to build their businesses right here in Canada. But, as all small and large business in Canada learn, the moment any wealth is garnered in any section of the Canadian economy the Leftist amongst us seek to confiscate it, which eventually leads to corporate monopolies in Canada. Because governments have no incentive to be efficient in any business endeavor.

Once a company in Canada has a monopoly they can dictate the price to start a business. In Ontario Kathlynne Wynne recently forced business owners to pay workers at least $14 per hour. Sure the Walmarts, the Loblaws’s, The McDonald’s can handle that increase because they can afford to automate but that also means a new small startup simply won’t exist here and if they do the moment a better less expensive opportunity presents itself that new startup will leave Canada.

Making matters worse is the mentality that comes with a $14 minimum wage because what this high wages cause is for most young people never getting employed or never consider being self-employed, which equates to these young people having a socialist view of the world, where a group oligarchs are exploiting them. Based on when they may have been born these young people will be right and justified to feel this way, however, their solution to the problem will often equate to more socialism, which as most of you know, no longer becomes Socialism it becomes Communism.

If you were to research the history of Fidel Castro’s Cuba, his dream was to have a socialist paradise. His dream turned into a nightmare because Fidel had never run a business before. So when Castro decided to nationalize American companies in Cuba, the United States was forced to respond with a trade embargo. Known in modern times as economic sanctions, because money had already fled Cuba because of Castro’s war there was nothing for Castro’s government to sell that another country couldn’t sell faster, more efficient and less expensive. furthermore, any country doing business with Cuba couldn’t do business with the United States. Big deal right? until you realize that most countries of the world are already of trade embargos that restrict imports of goods they can grow themselves.

To make matters worse for Castro he enacted an Agrarian reform. Now, in theory, an agrarian reform sounds fair, but in practice what Castro did was remove good farmers off their land for new farmers that knew nothing about farming. What this led to is a decline in their standard of living and of course, all the productive people left Cuba. Of course, Castro gave the people that remained free education. But what good is free education if you’re not free to take your talents to wherever you want?

Big government people and the believers of these Basic Income programs typically aren’t successful business people. Believers in Basic Income are usually career politicians that have inflated egos. These political figures will often convince themselves that they’re looking out for the little guy, protecting them from exploitation, these politicians will convince themselves that they’re irreplaceable and more important than the rest of us. Do I believe we have a duty to the poor? You Damn right I do, where I differ from government people is that I think charities are better indicators of human behavior.

Charities are all over the world trying to solve poverty and they’ve been for the most part unsuccessful. What’s gotten people out of poverty has been capitalism, what often appears in these poor countries are dictators that are typically socialist, Fascists or communist in nature. These dictators will often convince peoples in these poor countries that as politicians they know what’s best for the people and these leftist dictators will often put limits on what charities can and can not do in these poor countries. Of course, at this stage rebels will see inconsistencies in their government policies and then they’ll form their own militia groups and this creates the civil war cycles.

This is often the reasons why these Fidel Castro, Saddam Hussain, Muammar Gaddafi, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping figures appear in these totalitarian societies. It’s because once there are constant wars the people are all too happy to sue for peace. It’s important that those of you awake to the tyranny of the world continue to speak up. I’m glad Minister Lisa MacLeod got rid of this program and I hope we can shrink the size of government some more.

Interesting times ahead.
