Ontario government seeks to hold midnight sitting – September 15, 2018
I find the NDP and the Green Parties position regarding The Progressive Conservative government call to hold a midnight sitting hilarious. Below is what the Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner said regarding the midnight Gathering
Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner said he’s asked the government how much it cost provincial taxpayers to call all of the legislators, their staff and workers at Queen’s Park back to work for the special sessions and has received no reply.
“This premier said he was elected to save taxpayers money,” he said. “He is wasting taxpayers’ money with a frivolous political fight against the city of Toronto… How much money is this premier willing to waste for his own personal political agenda?”
I find it hilarious, I also find the response NDP Leader Andrea Horwath made bland and ridiculous in the same way.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath said the government’s move to push the legislation through shows it has misplaced priorities.
“It’s pretty clear the government is being very disrespectful about the legislature and what this house is all about,” she said. “They’re playing silly games at time when we have literally kids in our schools that can’t drink the water because there’s lead in it.”
Bland in the way that there was no substance to her argument, and ridiculous in the way that cutting the size of government is playing silly games when kids in Ontario schools can’t drink the water because there’s lead in it. One of the reasons there’s lead in the water in Public Schools is because the government is too big. Our public school system is inefficiently run and one thing is for sure these public servants are getting paid no matter how inefficient the government is, as pointed out by Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner.
I’m interested to see how this thing plays itself out, the sie of Government in Canada is way too big as is. Hopefully, things will change for the better. You can read the article regarding on The Canada Press Website or by clicking the link below that leads to MSN
