Did Ontario’s 2018 Minimum Wage Hike Kill Jobs? Yes, But it’s not the first time! – February 10, 2019

Being that Leftists are usually the most Greedy people on the planet, money whether it be Gold or Fiat currency matters a lot to them. What’s extremely important to Leftists is portraying an air of superiority over everybody else. Colombian Communist Guerrilla groups justify their actions by making the assumption that they’re actions are rooted in the greater good for society. When you do immoral acts you have to find a way to justify these immoral acts in your own mind by explaining to your listener that you’re using the force of Government to force people who you deem as rich to give you or people who share your ‘struggle’ more and more money and resources.

Do people forget that minimum wages are forced redistribution of income? the claim made by people who want a higher minimum wage is that the rich will exploit them without a minimum wage? Which is something I find hilarious. In my utopia part of the education, the curriculum would include students starting their own businesses. Because part of the reason most of these idiots are able to perpetuate this minimum wage nonsense is that they’re not willing to start their own businesses.

Again it’s not that most people can’t start their own businesses it’s that they don’t want to because there are more fun things they’d like to do with their time. These fun things people pushing for a minimum wage want to do include spending money and because these people the fun most of these people who want to push a higher minimum wage is really expensive they want the entire Canadian public to pay for it. The excuse for a higher minimum wage always revolves around the cost of living, however, the cost of living grows primarily because of the government.

Government workers have to be paid, government enforcement costs money, what a minimum wage means that it’s illegal for any company to pay a wage that less than the amount set by the government. What this means is that certain jobs can’t exist in Canada. Canada used to manufacture a lot of things, well if you know anything about the January 2019 job numbers you’ll see that Canada’s manufacturing took a hit. The job growth numbers happened in Ontario and Quebec and the job growth came mostly into the retail or service sectors.

What does Canada look like without a minimum wage? Well, Canada without minimum wages would have too many jobs to count, Singapore is the perfect example of what happens to an economy void of minimum wages, everybody and their uncle will come to Canada looking to create a job in all parts of Canada. Now, of course, this is bad for the labor unions, why you ask? Because when there’s an abundant supply of jobs, employers have to give their employees perks.

If let’s say an employee only makes $2 an hour “on paper” may be the company might provide for shelter, food, dividends, stock options, the possibility if it’s a franchise to start their own franchise once the current franchise is successful, not only that the ability for an entry-level employee to become a CEO becomes more realistic as more employers become interested in mentoring young proteges because their costs have come down and their options to offer benefits to their hardworking employees all of the sudden multiplies.

What’s often ignored by employees fighting for a minimum wage are there negotiating powers, which are lessened once the government creates an environment which makes it illegal for a person to offer their labor for less money. But you see if you subscribe to that Jerry Dias, Unifor, collective bargaining, Union nonsense that says workers should go to the government to force employers to pay them more money well you as an individual have lessened your negotiation powers and therefore decreased your options in the job market.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I get it, working off commissions, working for less money or having a newly arrived immigrant undercut you for jobs is a very real thing, but that’s if you’re looking at things from an employee perspective which is why I’ve often said that Children should learn how to start their own businesses in school, because when a person understands how easy it is to start a business, they stop looking at business people as the problem and then they start seeing the government and these union people as the problem.

Once workers safety and workers rights are established what else do you need a union for? You don’t need them for anything, that’s the sad truth that people are learning more and more every single year. Union groups and Leftist have to justify their existence somehow and one of the ways is appealing to people’s inner greed. Minimum wage is using the force of government to force business people to pay their employees more money, you can pretend minimum wages are a noble act if you want too, the truth is its government force, minimum wages is the government forcing business people at the point of a gun to pay a privileged group of people more money.

Once it’s established to business people that your government is corrupt or immoral, the only money that matters leaves. The only money that matters is manufacturing. What’s happened to Canadian manufacturing because of the minimum wages is that it’s been steadily declining, because of minimum wage laws Canada has priced itself out of a lot of jobs, which of course has made our dependence on countries like China increasingly more apparent. I mean let’s be honest Canada, you almost assume that every electronic device you buy comes from China?

Am I right? If you think this is normal? You’re wrong, this arrangement exists primarily because of minimum wages when you’re a Canadian and you think about China the first thing that comes to your mind is low wage workers? Am I not correct? well, it might surprise you that China’s cost of living is way lower than Canada’s primarily because they make things. When a country makes and manufactures things in abundance the price for those goods and services come down, in fact in many instances they’ll get stuff for free, because they a friend or family member of theirs owns a factory.

But you see if your mind is fixated on wages and growing the amount of money you earn, you’ll ignore the hyper-inflation minimum wages creates. Anyway, I like to write these articles because I want to make it abundantly clear to the reader why the Canadian economy is going to crash or collapse in the not so distant future if changes are made soon.
