Just yesterday I wrote about the have not province of Quebec, Quebec’s economy exists primarily because of Equalization payments in Canada, which is basically the government taking taxpayer dollars from the more productive provinces and giving the money to the non-productive province, although Alberta now in 2018 qualifies as a have not province, the reality is Quebec has been a Have Not province for years, in fact, Quebec is such a have not province that if they left Canada, they’d probably go bankrupt as a nation within their first couple of years. The times of Quebec leaving Canada being a threat to the Canadian economy is now over, the reality is if Quebec left Canada, it would probably serve as an economic stimulus to the Canadian economy, yet if you ask a large number of socialist Quebecers, they might tell you otherwise.

The bud of most Canadian jokes used to be the province of Newfoundland, well in recent years Quebec is on pace to be Canada’s poorest province, since around 2012, in case Quebecers haven’t noticed, their economy has been getting poorer and poorer and poorer, now if you’re a Quebec socialist, of course you can blame external forces for this, but the truth is Quebec is to blame and as a province they’re starting to lose their negotiation powers, I’m not sure how this spat will play out but, Ummm yeah, Quebec, this isn’t the 1980s or 1990s anymore, your government is bloated, your economy is not friendly to private businesses and given the option most productive people want to get the hell out of that province. Quebecers beware.
