Ron DeSantis vs. Donald Trump For President – Would Ron DeSantis threaten the Federal Reserve if it raised Interest Rates? – August 5, 2021,
The only person I’ve listened to that mentioned this more than once is Peter Schiff, the failure of Donald Trump’s presidency came when he threatened Jerome Powell for raising interest rates. This boneheaded move by Donald Trump, who claimed to have built the best economy in the history of the world, helped to finance his opposition, who ultimately(by hook or by crook) defeated him.
When Donald Trump ran for a second term, most of his supporters cared little about the economy, they were mostly happy Donald Trump was fighting like hell for FREEDOM and LIBERTY. Most of us on the right, know if we lost it all, we could make it back, because most of us are God-fearing people.
But as we all know, Donald Trump started off as Democrat, a lot of the laws and ideas Donald Trump put in place, INCLUDING THE WALL are usually attributed to Democrats or Left Wingers. Most people on the Right do not like Tariffs as an example, and instead of getting rid of NAFTA, Trump rebranded it.
It’s not to say that Ron DeSantis would beat Donald Trump head to head, but I wish he would. Furthermore, I wouldn’t want Ron DeSantis to be Vice President because if Ron DeSantis is not going to be president, it would be pointless to have him as Vice President. The Vice President doesn’t always have to be in line to be next President, I like Ron DeSantis as Governor of Florida and if he were to lose, I’d like Ron DeSantis as governor in some other State.
I personally think it would be unlikely that Ron DeSantis would threaten a Federal Reserve chairperson for raising rates, because as you’ll observe, Ron DeSantis when his back is against the wall doesn’t resort to name calling as Donald Trump does. Ron DeSantis resorts to facts and he’s Italian and most Italians I know are fighters, but they’re also not unreasonable.
Donald Trump at times can become unhinged, lacking control over his emotions, with Donald Trump his personal image is very important to him, with Ron DeSantis putting his best foot forward appears to be his guiding star. This isn’t to say that Ron DeSantis is without faults, but I do not think Ron DeSantis will start unnecessary problems for himself in the manner Donald Trump does for himself.
Donald Trump to me is not a counter puncher, he tends to overpower his opposition with offense, which is good, but also can make his opposition feel like beating him will be the crowning achievement of their lives. Ron DeSantis, on the other hand, is a true counter puncher, he’s relatively quiet until you attack him, and when Ron DeSantis strikes he hits you hard in a manner that makes you think twice about doing it again.
Finally, Ron DeSantis is someone you can emulate, whereas Donald Trump is a once-in-a-lifetime individual. It’s unlikely you will see anyone remotely similar to Donald Trump in your lifetime, which means if he were to leave the political arena, there’s no replacing him.
I personally think Donald Trump the advisor, the critic could do far more damage to the modern Left than Donald Trump The 45th President, Trump has already made history, a businessman becoming president WOW!
The world is currently going through a transition period. Based on my research, we’re headed for ECONOMIC deflation and the way out of this are higher interest rates bankruptcies, and the SHRINKING of the U.S government.
Donald Trump wants to repeat what he did in 2016-2020, I certainly hope not. I liked Donald Trump’s regulatory cuts and I thought based on the circumstances, his stance on tariffs was justifiable, but I hated Donald Trump’s war of words with Jerome Powell, I don’t even recognize Jerome Powell anymore, none of us do.
When I put myself in Jerome Powell’s shoes, to avoid public backlash, maybe I keep my mouth shut and exit silently? Why argue with Donald Trump? how would I as the Fed. Chair benefit if the economy goes down and Donald Trump uses me as the scapegoat?
Do you know whose personal life often sucks? Mitch McConnell, I’m not a Mitch McConnell fan, but I am human with a family and there’s nothing fun about having your personal property destroyed and your family compromised by both Left and Right-wing nut-jobs. Why would Jerome Powell sign up for that?
So for myself, I don’t see Ron DeSantis going to war with the Federal Reserve, I imagine Ron DeSantis if the economy went sour on his watch would do what Ronald Reagan did which is remind Americans who they are and what they’re NOT! Donald Trump wants everything to go perfectly on his watch even if it hurts America in the long term.
If I had it my way I’d vote for Ron DeSantis in the 2024 election!
Interesting times ahead!
