Where are the safe investments in Canada?

Canada like many other first world nations have safe places where people can invest starting with of course Government of Canada bonds or Federal bonds of course the interest on these types of investments aren’t very high however Canada is one of the safest places to invest in all of the G7 nations. Then of course there are the Guaranteed Income Certificates (GICs)
 which are also pretty good too, the problem again with Guaranteed Income certificates however is like the the Canadian federal bonds interest on these investments aren’t that high. Still however they’re safe because as stated Canada is one of the best places to invest into.

That aside the best place to invest or I should say the safest investments in Canada currently reside in their mortgage backed security. At the date of this post a Canadian mortgage backed security can be bought for as little as $5000 and they’re backed by the CMHC which stands for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. To fully understand how the cmhc works visit their website but in short Canada has a program that helps average Canadians to buy homes and CMHC assist in this area by helping the consumer and also to a degree protecting the investor.

I created this post in 11/23/2013 so depending on the date in which you’re reading this things might have changed. However at the moment Mortgage backed securities are safe investments that pay an interest higher than most safe investments in Canada.
