ScotiaBank Secured Credit Card

Posted on May 8, 2010January 6, 2014 by RichInWriters

Scotia Bank Secured Credit Card

My least favorite bank by far is Scotia Bank. Known in Toronto Canada as the stingiest bank Canada most financial professionals will recommend people to stay away from this bank unless they have perfect credit history. Scotia bank is a bank for th rich in many peoples minds. If you have bad credit history I can honestly say maybe it would be a good idea to look into TD bank or Royal bank as they tend to be more understanding to your situation.

None the less if you want to get a Scotia Bank secured credit card you will have to do this at your local branch as to date they do not have an online application. the people that might qualify for the Scotia bank Secured credit card are people who are new to the Canada or maybe students or young adults with no credit history. If you have bad credit history or you filed for some sort of bankruptcy personally i wouldn’t even waste my time with Scotia bank.

Secured Credit Card alternatives for Canadians

There are two online alternatives you might want to look into if you want a Secure Credit Card. The first is the Capital one Secured Credit Card. This credit card requires a minimum deposit of $300 and in order to qualify you have to be discharged of any bankruptcy in your name. it’s a good idea to call them for yourself explaining your situation. capital one will also take you back even if you’ve had a credit card with them in the past that you’ve defaulted on. As long as it’s paid up you can apply for the Capital one secured credit card. Again call them for yourself for all the details.

Another secured credit card option is the Home trust Visa card this secure credit card requires a minimum deposit of  $1000 last time i checked. but it ould be a good idea to check out Home Trust Visa for yourself. To me the Home trust secured visa card is a card for home owners whom may have had some past credit problems after they bought their house. Either way its a good idea to contact Home trust for yourself for more information.
