Some idiot socialists, in the middle of what is obviously a recession caused by the FEDERAL government’s inability to generate positive revenue and continuing to borrow money it doesn’t have, want the Ontario government, which has its own revenue shortfall problems, to send DWINDLING tax revenue to the Universal Basic Income pilot when Ontario already has a generous provincial welfare program.
What separates the Universal Basic Income from Ontario’s current welfare program is that Universal Basic Income guarantees the recipients WILL NOT HAVE TO WORK EVER in order to qualify for the Universal Basic Income.
If you know anything about the existing provincial welfare programs, you will find that there are multiple generations of individuals in Ontario who have NEVER worked a day in their lives.
This happens because every government program has loopholes; the loophole in Ontario’s welfare program is that if you’re a single mother who keeps having babies, you’ll keep getting free money from the government.
The difference with the UBI pilot is that you’d get cradle-to-grave welfare regardless of the situation without having to covertly scam the government. Anyway, this again goes to show you how out of touch these socialists are.
I will also add this is the problem with REDEFINING recession: you have to remember that the government and its allies have redefined recession, which is the only reason we’re not in one; clearly, the economy is deflating; however, if you’re SELECTIVE about what you metrics you use to define recession, we’ll never been in recession, more Canadians will merely find themselves in poverty.
Left Winger’s obsession with controlling the weather has undermined Canada’s existing welfare. I’d argue Justin Trudeau, the current Socialist Prime Minister of Canada, has effectively destroyed the stability of Canada’s welfare state, but I remind the reader that people who are on or who desire to be on cradle-to-grave welfare don’t care about the economy because they’re NOT contributing to it.
When you’re not contributing your fair share to the economy, you’ll inevitably start to imagine that money grows on trees and you’re ENTITLED to free stuff at the expense of others. These UBI idiots look and sound ridiculous!
