Splitting the vote: As the Tories move closer to the Center and The Liberals Move Further Left, The NDP must justify splitting the vote – December 19, 2020,
British Columbia in my opinion simply based on geographic location is a prime target for the NDP, primarily because with existing infrastructure, which had a lot to do with the NDP and where that province is situated, you’d have to be a complete idiot to screw that up. direct access to both the Asian and American markets?
I get it that most BC’ers only imagine themselves to be a travel and tourism province, but the reality is BC is rich with natural resources, and parcels in many ways have to go through BC to reach markets. The growth of Alberta is stunted because of BC, The NDP government in BC is turning away money for socialist ideology, that’s BC and the NDP in a nutshell.
Now the NDP economic system doesn’t work for extended periods of time anywhere else in Canada for obvious reasons, in Canada’s east coast, CANZUK which is the cooperation between Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom doesn’t exist yet and even if it did, the Liberal dominance in the East coast might do to it, what the NDP did to BC.
For this reason, the NDP’s non-market-based approach to economics, which contracts union labour to artificially raise the cost of everything, will cause most small and medium-sized businesses to intentionally become less productive.
In B.C people are punished for being productive, which is why most people buy, hold, and flip as opposed to investing for cash flow/investing for the long-term. On a Federal Level Jagmeet Singh has openly opted to want to go Left of Trudeau, who for the most part hijacked the NDP’s prior platform and this has of course opened the door for the Green Party which at the very least can use ‘The environment’ as their rallying cry for socialism.
Most labour unions already have the Canadian government under their control and because the Liberals are Corporatists, the Labour unions many of which are internationally connected labour unions, have now positioned themselves with the Global elites, which in a way put the NDP at a disadvantage to the well-connected Liberals.
All of these votes which otherwise would be split, may not split so easily, because the Tories have moved closer to the center and promised to CONSERVE Liberal policies while charging the private sector fewer taxes and fewer regulations.
The Conservative Party of Canada has basically made it clear that they will be better managers of Liberal Policies. This of course makes the average Canadian voter comfortable with the Conservatives in charge because they won’t have their existing welfares cut and they won’t be strapped with additional taxes.
This puts the NDP in a sort of a bind because if it’s a close election, the Leftist vote is going to Trudeau. Trudeau if there’s a snap election, might actually take more seats from the NDP whom I hear now has gotten themselves out of insolvency, and if the NDP loses more seats during a snap election without any financial excuses to fall back on, this puts the focus squarely on Jagmeet Singh.
The worst part of all of this is the Green Party, which now could become competition for the NDP. Annamie Paul did very well in her Toronto riding and we all know Jagmeet Singh had to retreat to a Burnaby South riding because his initial seat in Brampton East was under serious threat. Of course, the narrative has since changed, but I live in Ontario and the buzz around here for Jagmeet Singh was on the decline.
Singh doesn’t come across as authentic, the excuse made is that he wears a Turban or that Canada is racist, but the real problem is that Jagmeet comes across as rough around the edges, he wants to steamroll over his competition, whereas with Justin Trudeau, Trudeau will simply ignore his opposition.
The former drama school teacher turned politician, uses his acting skills magnificently, I’m a Maxime Bernier supporter, but I give credit where credit is due, had economics not been a focus of mine, I might be inclined to believe that Justin Trudeau at certain points was being unfairly targeted.
I’m not afraid to look at the world via the eyes of people who prefer political theatre over substance. I know the history of the Roman empire, it fell because of political theatre. The Conservatives who fought to preserve Rome eventually didn’t see anything worth fighting for, because the Justin Trudeau types had figured out that the people wanted easy answers, which came at the expense of the productive.
Justin Trudeau makes for good theatre and Jagmeet Singh makes socialism sound ugly and forced. Jagmeet Singh is stuck offering free stuff for votes, if you listen to Jagmeet Singh every speech he makes is about exchanging votes for government benefits. That is not what Justin Trudeau does, as revealed by ‘The Rebel’, the Liberals often do their dirty work behind the scenes.
Sure the Liberals offer free stuff at the expense of the taxpayer, but it’s not their only selling point. The Liberals aren’t full-blown prostitutes whereas Jagmeet Singh’s version of the NDP has, for the most part, prostituted themselves for votes.
Sure the NDP can turn this ship around in their favor, but they’ll have to sacrifice the Canadian economy and their political Party to do it. The NDP reached its apex a few years ago while the Liberals were on the decline and they squandered it because on the Federal level they were bullies that offered no substance or solutions. Jagmeet is more of a bully than Jack Layton ever was.
I never agreed with the late Jack Layton, but I liked him, he understood the democratic process and was patient enough to wait his turn. Jagmeet Singh like most Democratic Socialists is not patient, similar to Bernie Sanders in the United States Jagmeet will say and offer almost anything to get votes, which means he inadvertently will offend his base of supporters. It Will be interesting to see what the future holds for the NDP.
I actually thought former Green Party leader Elizabeth May shot herself in the foot in 2019, I think if Annamie Paul doesn’t make the same mistake, forget the Liberal and Conservative Partys, the NDP might have to start worrying about The Green Party!
