Sri Lankan Billionaire Living in China, Neville Roy Singham, & American Wife Jodie Evans: Funding Radical Leftist Movements? – September 24, 2025

Reconsidering “Consulting” in a World of Political Manipulation

In Christian finance circles, we’ve warned believers and entrepreneurs alike to rethink branding their businesses as “consulting firms”—especially when seeking capital. Why? Because this label has been exploited by far-left groups to secure lucrative government contracts, not necessarily through value creation, but through ideological alignment.

In particular, movements tied to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) have used the word “consulting” to push radical agendas that inflate government spending while undermining free-market principles. This manipulation of language and power is not only deceitful—it’s spiritual warfare against truth and liberty.

The Spiritual Danger of Censorship and Centralized Control

From a Christian worldview, censorship is not just a political tool—it’s a tactic of the enemy. Where truth is silenced, the Gospel cannot go forth. This is why early Christians were persecuted: their message threatened the state’s control over people’s minds and hearts.

Scripture teaches us:

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” — 2 Corinthians 3:17

But in cultures shaped by Eastern religious philosophies—such as Buddhism in Sri Lanka or Communism in China—there is often little room for individual liberty or divine truth. Neville Roy Singham, a Sri Lankan-born billionaire now living in China, is a case study in what happens when power, ideology, and spiritual blindness collide.

Who Is Neville Roy Singham? A Background in Revolution

Neville Roy Singham is the son of Archibald Wickeramaraja Singham, a Sri Lankan political scientist who sympathized with socialist and Marxist movements. The elder Singham was a participant in the Non-Aligned Movement, and his work placed him in contact with Caribbean and global revolutionary movements. He also criticized the U.S. intervention in Grenada, siding with communist regimes in the region.

Growing up in this ideological environment, Neville Roy Singham took a radical path of his own. He joined the League of Revolutionary Black Workers in Detroit, eventually founding ThoughtWorks, a software consulting company. After selling the business for $785 million, Singham poured his wealth into far-left causes, many of which are tied to pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda.

The Idol of Ideology Over the Gospel of Truth

As Christians, we must understand the spiritual backdrop behind these movements. Singham’s ideology appears to be Maoist and pro-authoritarian—he reportedly funds platforms that promote anti-capitalist narratives, supports radical pro-Palestinian movements, and operates within media circles tied to the Chinese government.

Yet here’s the tragedy: for all his wealth, Singham is building a kingdom that will crumble, because it is not built on Christ.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” — Psalm 127:1

His Wife, Jodie Evans: From Activist to Apologist for Authoritarianism

Singham’s wife, Jodie Evans, was once an American activist who protested for labor rights. Ironically, she now praises China—a nation where unionizing independently is illegal and Christians face state-sanctioned persecution. Her support of China’s censorship regime—while claiming to fight for justice—shows how spiritual blindness can lead even the well-meaning into darkness.

What Does This Mean for Believers?

This story isn’t just about politics. It’s about the soul of a nation—and the souls of individuals. When a person rejects Christ, they’re vulnerable to creating their own idols, whether it’s money, ideology, or nationalism. And when a society elevates those idols to power, censorship follows, and soon after, poverty of the mind and spirit.

Let us be clear: prosperity is not just financial. True prosperity includes peace of mind, freedom to create, and liberty to speak. But the devil hates all forms of prosperity—especially the kind rooted in God-given purpose and self-governance.

Christianity Is Decentralized—By Design

Unlike Marxist ideologies or Islamic theocracies, Christianity decentralizes power. In the New Testament, the Gospel spread not through emperors, but through ordinary believers filled with the Holy Spirit.

This decentralization of truth is what threatens every authoritarian regime. That’s why communists, radical leftists, and even misguided activists target Christian values: they want submission, but Christ offers freedom.

“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36

We Are Not Here to Control—But to Witness

As Christians, we do not seek to force our beliefs on anyone. We don’t burn books or demand submission. We preach Christ crucified, and invite all who hear to receive Him in love.

The issue with figures like Neville Roy Singham is not their wealth—it’s their spiritual allegiance. When you finance regimes that hate the Gospel, censor speech, and enslave minds, you are serving a kingdom in opposition to Christ.

Final Thoughts: Christ Is King, Not Capital

While we advocate for free markets, property rights, and economic liberty, we do not worship these things. We serve Jesus Christ, who is the author of both liberty and justice. The love of money leads to ruin—but the fear of the Lord leads to wisdom.

If you’re a believer, teach your children both sides of every argument, but always center them in truth. If you’re not yet a Christian, consider the eternal consequences of living by man’s philosophies instead of God’s Word.

Consider making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior today.

Because while money can be spent and ideologies may shift, the Word of God stands forever.

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” — Matthew 24:35
