If you are a Christian who feels called to fight for Israel, then by all means, go and fight for Israel. But let us stop sending troops and nations into endless wars. Biblically, when Israel sins against God, it opens the door to demonic attacks and defeat.
The Reality of Israel’s Demographics
Not everyone in Israel is Jewish. As of 2025, Israel’s population is estimated at 9.5–10.1 million, of which about 73% identify as Jewish — roughly 7 million people. By comparison, about 7.5 million Jews live in the United States.
The Hebrew Bible is God’s inspired Word. Unlike Islam, which claims the Quran is untampered and dictated directly by God, Judaism and Christianity acknowledge that flawed human beings wrote the Scriptures under divine inspiration. As Christians, we understand this — and therefore seek the Kingdom of God within us.
Why Israel Struggles
If Israel were obedient to God, Hamas and other enemies would not succeed in their missions. Human beings are naturally competitive. Christianity recognizes this reality, and from it we derive the concept of capitalism — not merely as a system to accumulate wealth, but as a means to keep people busy. Many of the world’s problems arise from idleness. When people are idle, they seek out idols. For radical Islamists, their “idol” is the destruction of Jews and Christians.
It is worth remembering that Christian nations were the true targets of early Islamic conquests. Islam rose to prominence by conquering Christian lands. Unlike Muslims, Christians openly acknowledge that our faith is rooted in Jewish history.
Judaism and Christianity: Different Foundations
We must also remember that Judaism rejects Jesus as the Son of God and as the Messiah. Jews believe the Messiah will be a descendant of King David who will bring peace and rebuild the Temple — things they do not believe Jesus accomplished. They reject the Trinity and any divine intermediary.
- Solomon’s Temple: Built by King Solomon, it was the central place of worship for Israel until destroyed by the Babylonians.
- Second Temple: Rebuilt and later expanded by King Herod, it too was destroyed.
- Future Hope: Jews still look for a Messiah to rebuild the Temple and usher in peace.
For Christians, this hope is incomplete. Our faith is built on Jesus Christ — the Messiah who fulfilled God’s plan of salvation.
Christians Should Avoid Picking Sides
As Christians, we must remember that our culture and covenant are not the same as Judaism’s. Israel is God’s chosen people, but it is not our role to interfere in their politics. Instead, our responsibility is to grow the Christian faith and protect Christians worldwide — including those in Israel.
That means modeling unconditional love — not bowing down to secular movements or communities that demand we worship their political goals, lifestyles, or idols.
Israel is more than capable of defending itself. Since Israel denies Jesus Christ, Christians should allow them to walk their own path and see where their belief system leads.
The Bigger Spiritual Picture
Collectivists, socialists, and radical Islamists share a similar spirit: the desire to centralize power, censor dissent, and coerce worship. These are signs of demonic influence. Scripture reminds us:
“Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.” — Psalm 34:21
For decades, Christians in the West have lived in peace. What disrupts our liberty, freedom, and property rights? Collectivism, socialism, idolatry, and false certainty. Atheists are 100% certain there is no God. Radical Islamists are 100% certain the Quran was dictated directly by God through one prophet. Both extremes lead to destruction.
Christianity, by contrast, is humble. We know God’s Word is inspired, but we also know we can never fully comprehend the greatness of the Almighty. That humility keeps us searching, learning, and growing.
Why Christians Must Stay Out of Foreign Wars
For these reasons, Christians should resist foreign entanglements. Israel can defend itself. In a free-market world, Christian nations have the right to decide who they sell arms to — supplying Israel if they wish, and refusing Hamas if they choose.
But this should be done voluntarily, not through coercive alliances or government-mandated wars. As Christians, we believe in individual responsibility. If a Christian or group of Christians feels called to fight for Israel, that is their choice — but they do not speak for all of us.
Closing
Israel’s fate belongs to God. Our duty is to build the Kingdom of God through Christ, not through political entanglements.
Consider making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior today.
