Personally I think I would have qualified for Covid-19 benefits, but I didn’t apply and wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with it because it was morally wrong. Furthermore Justin Trudeau’s cabinet had been making changes to the tax code since 2015, something I’ve been monitoring and most people have been ignoring.
Trudeau has been making incremental changes to the Canadian tax code and most of these changes don’t make the headlines. What makes the headlines is the Capital gains hike and the carbon tax; what doesn’t make the headlines are the changes to deductions, which is one of the reasons why, under Justin Trudeau, so many JOB CREATORS have been leaving Canada.
With that said, Trudeau’s tax changes and tax hikes, haven’t produced positive cash flow for his cabinet, and therefore they’re getting desperate and going after what used to be Liberal voters (The tax cheats).
When most people imagine tax cheats, they imagine Conservatives, but Conservatives do the opposite of tax cheating, we tend to OVERPAY our taxes, to keep the government as far away from us as possible.
It’s actually the people who tend to believe in Left Wing politics, that tend to cheat on their taxes, or take money that wasn’t intended for them. Because if for example you believe in high taxes, or ENTITLEMENTS from the government, you’re more than likely going to take Covid-19 money even if you don’t need it or don’t even qualify for it.
OTTAWA — The Canada Revenue Agency is ramping up the pressure and threatening legal action on unco-operative ineligible COVID-19 benefit recipients as the tax authority looks to recoup nearly $10 billion in lingering overpayments.
As COVID-19 emergency benefits like CERB and its successor the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) came to an end by 2022, the Canada Revenue Agency and its partners knew they faced the monumental task of recouping billions of dollars in overpayments.
