The Human Need to Believe
As human beings, we all want to believe in something. Anything that gives our lives meaning, purpose, or direction. When people are desperate, that desire becomes stronger and more dangerous.
Across parts of Africa, where economic hardship is severe and ongoing, many Christians are searching for a quick fix or a simple explanation for their suffering. In moments like these, people become highly vulnerable to deception.
That vulnerability is where scammers thrive.
The Ebo Noah Case
In Ghana, a self-proclaimed prophet known as Ebo Noah claimed that God warned him the world would end through a catastrophic three-year flood. He spent months building wooden arks and collected money from believers who were told these structures would save them.
This was not faith. This was exploitation.
As a Christian, my first question is always simple: Which God?
What Jesus Actually Said
Christianity is not meant to shut down thinking. One of the advantages Christians are supposed to have is freedom of speech and the freedom to ask hard questions.
Jesus Himself made the matter clear:

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
That verse alone disqualifies anyone claiming insider knowledge about the end of the world.
Before Laughing at Africa, Look at Canada
Before mocking Africans who fell for this scam, Canadians should look in the mirror.
At worst, Ebo Noah took money from people until December 25, 2025. In contrast, Canadians are locked into an ongoing ESG and Net Zero agenda with no clear end date. Mark Carney, following the groundwork laid by Justin Trudeau, continues to promote climate narratives that justify endless taxation and government control.
Canadians were told climate change was an existential threat and that a cradle-to-grave carbon tax was necessary to save humanity. Many believed it. Many still do.
Who Really Lost More
If we are honest, the people who sent money to Ebo Noah arguably suffered less damage than Canadians who continue funding policies that permanently lower their standard of living.
At least Ebo Noah has reportedly turned himself over to authorities. Mark Carney and Justin Trudeau continue advancing policies that extract wealth without repentance or accountability.
The Myth of Atheist Rationality
When people say Christians are gullible, I disagree. No group is more naive than atheists who believe the climate is changing and that governments can stop it through taxation.
That belief system simply replaces God with the state. It is still worship.
History proves this pattern repeatedly. Jim Jones was not an anomaly. Humans fall for these systems because they want certainty, protection, and meaning.
What the Bible Actually Teaches
As a Christian, I cannot force anyone to believe in God. But if you claim to follow Jesus Christ, you owe it to yourself to read the Bible personally.
The Bible is not a spellbook. It is God-inspired writing meant to sharpen thinking, not shut it down. It records how humans repeatedly fail and how better relationships with God are restored.
Jesus not only died and resurrected. He performed miracles while alive and charged no money.
There is also zero indication Noah charged money to build the Ark.
Salvation has never been a paid service.
Why Paid Prophets Fail the Test
So when someone sends money to a so-called prophet, it reveals they have not read their Bible.
Why would a prophet sent by God need your money?
One of the reasons the Jewish establishment opposed Jesus was because He did for free what priests charged money for. He healed on the Sabbath. He taught daily. He demanded no payment.
Applying the Same Logic to Climate Policy
Now apply the same logic to secular belief systems.
If climate change is real and urgent, why does Mark Carney need your money to stop it?
Any justification used to force carbon taxes can also justify why people sent money to Ebo Noah.
Cultural Mixing and Spiritual Confusion
Another major issue within global Christianity is the mixing of ancient tribal traditions with Christianity.
For example, the Igbo people of Nigeria, sometimes spelled Ebo, have cultural beliefs that predate Christianity. Whether Ebo Noah references this intentionally or not, mixing old spiritual traditions with Christianity creates confusion and invites deception.
To my Nigerian, African, and global Christian family: mixing old traditions with Christianity makes you more susceptible to scams.
Africa’s Structural Economic Problem
Africa’s economic struggles are not accidental.
Many African nations adopted Marxist property laws after independence, prioritizing anti-recolonization over private property rights. Nationalization is common. Private investment avoids unstable property regimes. Foreign aid replaces private capital.
This dependency does not create prosperity.
Private property rights must be respected if Africa wants sustained growth and real investment.
A Final Challenge
Belief systems, whether religious or secular, that demand your money in exchange for salvation should always be questioned.
Consider making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior today.
