Women having rights was inevitable in any society that claims to be egalitarian. However, this blog focuses on money and economics. Do not expect us to join any woman-bashing brigade. Collectively, men built the systems now being criticized.
The welfare state is the single reason feminism becomes destructive in Western nations. Western civilization was intended to derive from Judeo-Christian values, which do not include the theft of private property. That is precisely what the welfare state represents.
For argument’s sake, assume I am a feminist. In reality, who cares. The issue arises only when feminism is paired with cradle-to-grave, state-sanctioned government welfare. At that point, the ideology becomes a financial burden imposed on others.
What is commonly called “social justice” is in reality secular justice. It revolves around wealth redistribution. Nearly all laws supporting this framework are designed to protect women and children through forced redistribution.
Labour Unions and Government Control
A labour union is a government-sanctioned extortion mechanism centered on the confiscation of private property. If I am an employer, why should I not be allowed to fire employees at will or set prices as I see fit?
Women did not create labour unions. Men did. Once theft is justified morally or politically, consistency demands expansion. The logic becomes: capitalists are exploiting workers, therefore the government must intervene and grant workers control over their employer’s property.
There is no economic or financial justification for labour unions. They are social justice movements. Labour unions introduced government wages, now known as minimum wages.
Minimum Wage as a Political Tool
The minimum wage is the government inventing numbers to achieve political objectives. Politicians are pressured to produce a so-called reasonable wage employers must be legally forced to pay.
Men built this framework. Women were eventually granted rights within it. Why would women not demand what the system claims they are owed? As a Christian, I recognize this entire structure as destructive, but I will not align with weak men who blame women for systems men created.
Women did not design Western civilization. If women, like many men, never study Austrian economics, it is unreasonable to blame them for believing free markets are immoral.
Voluntarism Versus Forced Subsidy
Even in a pure market economy, feminism would likely exist. Christianity is voluntary. Jesus Christ never forced belief. “Seek ye the Kingdom of God” does not mean impose the Kingdom of God by force.
A woman or a man may embrace feminism. That is not the issue. The issue is why anyone should be forced to subsidize it. The welfare state is the mechanism that enables this coercion.

Can wage earners be unproductive? Absolutely. Observe modern Western governments. If someone starts a business and employs you, and you believe you are entitled to legally extort them through regulation, you are unproductive by definition.
If you believe you are smarter than business owners, start your own business. The inevitable response is an excuse.
As Christians, we are called to help those in need, not those in want. The welfare state prioritizes wants over needs. A person born without limbs is in need. That does not require government coercion for Christians to act.
When the government mandates assistance to those in want first, those truly in need receive lower priority.
Ending the Welfare State
Those who argue we must stop feminism ignore the root cause. Feminism will continue as long as the welfare state finances it. Bad ideas of all kinds persist when government funding guarantees their survival.
It is time to end the welfare state.
Bad ideas will never disappear. Innovation requires failure and experimentation. What must end is the forced financing of bad ideas indefinitely.
If you are a serious man, stop wasting time attacking feminism and focus on dismantling the welfare state.
