Peterborough landlord attempts to resolve ‘nightmare’ tenant situation
One Peterborough couple says they are at their wit’s end while dealing with a “nightmare” tenant situation. The incident has led to thousands of dollars in rent arrears. As they await to sit before the landlord tenant board they look to the community for support. Tricia Mason has their story.
There’s a lie being told that there’s a housing shortage in Canada; this is false; there’s a LANDLORD shortage all over Canada, and that’s only ONE of the price control mechanisms in the housing market; the other serious problem is “property rights.”
Canada, obviously not being a Republic, equates to all property belonging to the CROWN. The Crown, in almost all parts of Canada, gives “tenants,” which is a loosely defined word, more property rights than landlords.
In almost every single province and city in Canada, LEFT WING housing politics dominate. Don’t imagine the Conservative Party will solve the problem; building more housing won’t solve a LANDLORD shortage problem.

On the surface, this sounds fine, but then it leads to FEWER small and LARGE business people wanting to get involved in the RENTAL market. One might argue at this point, well then the GOVERNMENT should start building more government housing, well, the various branches of government ALL over Canada, all have unionized PUBLIC SERVANTS who have paychecks that are not only already inflated, but their paychecks also CONTRACTUALLY keep pace with the inflation rate, which under Canada’s Justin Trudeau-Jagmeet Singh coalition has led to higher consumer prices for the entire country.
The solution is simple: “Austerity,” but the reality is that this problem will GUARANTEE the domestic erosion of the domestic purchasing power of the Canadian dollar. Already, the response to this reality by the Bank of Canada is to LOWER INTEREST rates.
The thinking behind lowering interest rates is that it will create a lending boom, that will lead to more housing being built, but that’s not the problem, the problem is that there’s a LANDLORD shortage.
