The Top 1% according to Andy Blatchford $200,000 (Top 1% paid slightly more in taxes after Liberal changes, figures show) – April 18, 2019,
Now instead of me ranting I want you to consider reading the article below:
Now if you actually read the article Andy Blatchford is making the argument that people who make over $200,000 are the 1% in Canada? Now it’s important that people understand something about the top 1% in general, they’re generally responsible for paying both sales taxes and income taxes. Those big companies that offer we consumers things we want, yes they’re the entities who pay income taxes if you don’t believe me. think about what happens to an employee who pays income taxes when he’s no longer employed?
I’ll say this in another way if a person is unemployed can he or she pay income taxes? The answer is NO! So again who pays income taxes, the employee or the employer? I’ll wait… The employers pay income taxes and the main reason why Governments protect big companies like Loblaws and broker deals so Loblaws can get energy efficient fridges is that not only does Loblaws pay income taxes it’s one of the largest contributors to sales taxes. Yes, I know certain foods don’t have taxes, but have you been in Loblaws? furthermore, Loblaws also owns Shoppers Drug Mart in case you haven’t been paying attention. Now, am I praising Loblaws and their corporate monopoly? No! But Canadians have this stupid notion that taxes create wealth.
No morons, taxes redistribute wealth. Taxes create entitled public sector workers. Although most people assume that taxes and higher taxes help the poor, the reality is very different, taxes and Government monopolies created by government redistribution and protectionist based schemes create entitled public sector workers, who unionize and often get better benefits than their private sector equivalents, which in many instances disappear or cease to exist because private businesses as an example can’t compete with State-owned Crown Corporations like CMHC, the CBC or Canada Post.
So although these state-owned corporations create do pay sales and income taxes, the reality is they’re preventing other businesses from being created which would create more income and sales taxes. Now, when you’re talking about public servants their entire income is derived from the private sector. Sure the government and even or central bank can create money out of thin air, thereby creating inflation, but creating money for stimulative effect is the equivalent to rewarding drug addicts and the real problem with this is what happens when Canada’s creditors no longer see the benefit in us growing our public sectors.
Now obviously people who earn over $200K don’t make up the top 1% but they do get taxed like they do. Being that I’ve worked as an employee, I’ll tell you what people do once they know the government is punishing them for being wealthy, employees will typically decline to work overtime, they will pass on that second or third job, they may even scale back or find other things to do with their leisure time and they may even spend less. In real people pay attention, people talk, people aren’t stupid. Even if the assumption is that the middle class is voting for higher taxes, that might not be the reason they vote for Trudeau. A lot of people I know in Toronto voted for Trudeau for one reason only… Legalize Marijuana! Now, these people make good money, I’m not sure if they make over $200K but they’re smart people and they didn’t care about anything else Trudeau did, all they cared about was Pot!
So although Leftists often assume that people want collectivism te reality in the real world is often different. The people often will treat Politicians as their own personal mules and disregard them once their purpose is fulfilled. Now obviously I’m a Free market, Liberty loving person, but I’m no fool, I know my countrymen. All I want to do is make sure that more people can see the Canadian economy for the potential utopia that it should be. With that said I thought Andy Blatchford’s article “Top 1% paid slightly more in taxes after Liberal changes, figures show” is a perfect example of how many Canadians genuinely don’t understand how the real wealth in this country is derived.
Interesting times ahead
