Why does anyone in this city need to have a gun at all? – July 26, 2018

John Tory’s Actions After Toronto Shooting Were What No U.S. Leader Has Ever Done
I’ve often said the Progressive Conservative party of Canada is nothing more than a political party conserving the policies of the Liberal Party of Canada. Typically the only time I’ll support the Conservatives is if the Liberal Party of Canada go too far left, which they have done since the Justin Trudeau took the office. I remember on a Municipal level a Conservative party member knocked on my door and told me he was pro-rent-control. Now obviously I don’t want rent prices going up but I don’t believe in rent controls either.
I believe in limited government intervention, being that the free market is so effective in an organized society, it’s important to have laws and some regulations, but regulations that are derived from other regulations often lead to an entitled society unprepared for economic and social challenges. Because Canadians, for the most part, have been banned from freely obtaining a gun, it’s now a taboo that criminals want to possess. Guns in Canada have the same or a similar appeal as illegal drugs.
Because the average law-abiding, wouldn’t hurt a fly citizen in Canada can’t get a gun when a crook gets one the citizenry is often unprepared to deal with that person. Therefore entirely dependent on the police and government law enforcement to handle the problem. Because of that problem, for the most part, is outsourced, there’s a lot more pressure on the government to make sure law and order remain in check.
One of the reasons Canada has to enforce its borders and enforce its tenured immigration policy is because, for the most part, most Canadians are unarmed. America historically has had a lackluster immigration party in comparison to Canada because in most Republican-run states the citizens are all heavily armed, not only are they heavily armed but for the most part, those republican states have the least gun related deaths.
Some say it’s the homogeneity, but if you believe in Multi-Culturalism why can’t this type of harmony be replicated in a Multi-Cultural society where we are all treated as equals? Could it be that we as a Multi-Cultural society look into what makes these homogeneous societies so peaceful when a large number of American homes in Republican-run states have more than one assault rifle?
With that said, John Tory’s statement is the exact reason why people should never put their trust in a politician and never opt to grow the government. I’d expect the Green Party, The Liberals or The NDP to say something like this but for a Conservative to say this reminds me of when George H. W. Bush made a speech and used the term “New World Order”. George Bush was a Republican, the equivalent to a Conservative in Canada. I’ll have to keep my eyes on John Tory from now on.
Interesting times ahead.
