Toronto reacts to the recent FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting Sponsored Nanos Research poll about the CBC | David Menzies – Review – May 27, 2019,
One of the reasons I like TheRebel is that they put their theories to the test, recently FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting – friends.ca
sponsored a Nanos Research poll that indicated that the vast majority of Canadians want the CBC’s level of funding to be maintained and even increased. Personally, I think the numbers may have been correct because as you can see based on the video below, most people in Liberal cities quite frankly don’t seem to give a F*ck especially what appears to be visual minority groups, many of whom feel privileged to be here and would rather not rock the boat and speak bad against the Leftists that they feel got them here. Watch the video without bias.
Fewer than 1 in 5 Canadians want CBC funding decreased: poll – ipolitics.ca
Important things to note about the poll, Bloc Québécois and NDP voters were the most supportive of increasing funding at 72 and 70 percent. I’m sorry but that sounds consistent to me, I live in Toronto and I know a lot of Leftists, their economic IQ’s are low which contribute to their short-sighted approach to social justice. When I was growing up, if you wanted to gain knowledge, you’d go to the Library, I assumed that when the internet made information easily and readably accessible that the internet would make more people aware of the economic consequences of the Government using taxpayer dollars to fund particular industries. I was wrong, not only was I wrong I was very wrong, I’d forgotten that a lot of Old Stock Canadians were now dependent on the Government for their own survival. I also failed to realise that most people use the internet for entertainment purposes
Big government has shaped modern day Canadian culture, our embracing of Keynesian economics, central banking and fiat money equates to a Canadian economy that in time will come to a grinding halt if our way of socio-economic thinking isn’t challenged. We have America as a trading partner, you have to be a complete moron to border with America and not have a wealthy country. Cuba was rich until Fidel Castro took over and the blockade of trade between Cuba and America became law. Free markets make a country rich, big government makes a country poor, deep down everybody knows this, but you know when the money appears to be flowing, the assumption by many is that they’re not really paying for those government subsidies, the money is coming from thin air, the universe or the Gods.
It’s only when there’s a market crash or when lending gets tighter that people’s ideologies are challenged. The reality still remains that when east Asian groups as an example come to Canada, they find more economic success than do most Old Stock Canadians and these east Asian groups often do this without the help of the government. Although I’ve never voted in a predominantly East Asian district before, the ethnic group I see the least when I go to vote are East Asians. I see a lot of people of South Asian, middle eastern and African descent, I see a whole lot of white people voting, but east Asians not so much, which is odd to me because there’s a whole lot of them owning and operating productive businesses.
Why do I bring this up? Because the wealth of Canada is being taken for granted, and it’s being taken for granted primarily because our country feels rich, by international standards our country is rich and if you feel like your countries rich, more times than not, the average citizen isn’t going to investigate how our wealth is being stolen from us. David Menzies did the above interview in Toronto, I live here, the city is beautiful, but if the city was an individual the city would be bankrupt, now the city wouldn’t be bankrupt because of the productivity, no the city would be bankrupt because of all the public services and public servants it’s obligated to finance and employ.
The problem with Crown Corporations like the CBC, is that they’re not profitable, yet they continue to grow, do you remember Blackberry? Yes! Samsung and Apple put an end to their dominance in the smartphone space which equated to their inability to grow. The people’s choice was clear Samsung and Apple were the future of smartphones and so Blackberry has been forced to restructure, change it’s model or go bankrupt. CBC, on the other hand, is rewarded for failure as are many of the other media giants and crown corporations.
CBC’s excuse for failure revolves around Canadian heritage and other socially infused words, that allow them to operate freely without the worry of at least entertaining its audience. The CBC was first established in 1936 and the deep-rooted thinking behind bailing it out is derived from the belief that Canada is better off with them. If you’re new to Canada are you really going to challenge Canadian Heritage? Especially when it shows a former terrorist in a positive light?
The NDP has embraced the idea that ‘former’ terrorists should be brought back to Canada and rehabilitated, do you really think the NDP hasn’t been paying attention to the demographic shifts in Canadian society? In Quebec the reasoning for wanting the CBC differs, because Socialism and protectionism aren’t a taboo topic in Quebec, actually I think if David Menzies went to Quebec the support for the CBC would be even larger. If it sounds like I’m for the bailout media packages? I’m not, but I’m a realist, and the reality is on the surface our standard of living appears to be getting better in the minds of many new and old stock Canadians. Furthermore, in Quebec, nobody wants to start a business there and therefore, Crown Corporations and Equalization Payments are entitlements their people feel entitled too.
You ask the government for welfare, when you assume there’s an abundance of wealth, whenever I visit poor countries the last thing anyone in a third world country wants to see is a government employee. In poor countries the people want the Private Sector, their backward thinking occurs whenever a politician tricks the voting public into believing that, they, the socialist politicians can extract money from the private sector without there being any penalty to the people. In a country that’s new and not knowledgable about the free market, they’ll often make the mistake assuming that nationalizing an industry is good for the people, but because little private capital exists in poorer countries, the impact of protectionism and nationalization of industries felt by the people in poorer countries is typically felt immediately.
Although Venezuela is now the sh*t hole of South America, the country is actually surrounded by socialist sh*t holes, it took Venezuela longer to become an sh*t hole because it was rich in Oil, but the problems in South America that are leading some people to flee to the American border revolves around their governments using social reasoning to redistribute money from one group of people to another. In Canada, we’re lucky because we didn’t start off as a socialist nation, we embraced free and open markets and we’re only now having a slowly declining economy, but because we’re doing better than other nations, the assumption by the people is that everything will be fine, no matter what bailout package is given or regardless of the policies of party in power.
Unfortunately, until a crash happens and the realization that public services are paid for by the private sector is realized, I see a steady decline and a sharp rise in the cost of living being the norm. The Canadian economy by my metrics has surpassed that 30% of public servants number. Meaning that 30% of people employed in Canada either work for or are dependent on the government for welfare or employment. This typically creates a currency crisis, the European Union the Euro was created because most of those European nations were bankrupt and thought it a better idea to form an alliance so their purchasing power could be restored. But as we’re seeing now, the same growing ‘demand’ for public services is forcing Europe to create more and more regressive taxes.
Well, the same is happening in Canada, fortunately for Canada, America hasn’t embraced Bernie Sanders socialism yet. But Trump has sounded the warning bells, American protectionism appears to be the new normal, American protectionism doesn’t bode well for Canada’s increasing demand for regressive carbon taxes. Canada does a lot of tariffing at the borders and we’ve lost a lot of manufacturing jobs, sure there’s been an uptick in technology-based jobs, but you have to be smart to get those jobs, I say this because price controls in Canada created by Crown Corporations are going to put the Canadian dollar in a world of problems if there’s a global economic downturn. Raise rates and crash the debt economy or lower rates and create more inflation, potentially hyperinflation, don’t forget Canada’s dependence on imports. Great interview, but I think the poll could be accurate especially if the people who voted were individuals who don’t work or who don’t understand who is paying for the CBC.
Interesting times ahead.
