Toronto’s first kosher food bank on the brink of closing down – Here’s why – July 29, 2018,
when I talk to most people from the political right, the political center and the political left my solution to how to end poverty always alludes people. The very idea that we in this beautiful country have food banks is a beautiful thing. What’s rarely talked about are the rich people and rich entities that fund these food banks. Charities usually don’t manufacture anything, charities are typically dependent on external entities to keep their doors open. If you’ve ever worked for a charity that gives food to the poor, one of the first places you seek to get food are large retailers, the next place is manufacturers then your next source is public. Money often doesn’t come into play when you’re running a food bank, that is until your sources for food starts to dwindle.
What’s very interesting about the story below is honest the writer is. I highly recommend you click the link below to read that article in full.

The section that should wake you up is the section that states the following:
Marks says there are also fewer Canadian factories providing Kosher food.
“With so many Canadian factories closing up and moving to the States, the donations really dropped,” he said.
Charitable organizations typically have no reason to lie or stretch the truth, the main objective of a legitimate charity is to provide for the poor, so when a member of the charity says this, it’s because he’s seeing it first hand. I should also point out that if the factories left for our southern neighbours this would have happened prior to Donald Trump, this may have even happened under Stephen Harper’s conservatives, now think about that for a moment and then think to yourself that under Justin Trudeau the government increased taxes, increased regulations and even attempted to rearrange the tax code for small business.
This story happened in Toronto, which means that these factories probably started closing under Kathleen Wynne, possibly prior to the massive minimum wage hike. Being that factories were closing my guess is that many closed because of sky-high energy costs that were wasted under the previous Liberal government, don’t forget most of that wasted money came from the private sector and if you were a factory that couldn’t install solar panels on your roof you go no benefits under Kathleen Wynne, not only that your company was probably ridiculed.
What Canadians forget is that most business owners would rather remain private, they’would rather remain quiet and suffer in silence. When the average Canadian thinks of a business they visualise Celine Dion, Drake or some celebrity that has a lot of money and is accesssible to the public, most business people in Canada want to stay as far away from the public eye as possible, they live private lives and would rather the media stay out of their personal affairs, what this translates too is that when these Canadian business owners are experiencing hardships, they’re not going to speak up, they’ll usually just shut down or move their operations to another location which could be America.

When a factory leaves Ontario or canada for that matter it’s not just about the money, it’s about the service they provide, the moment your country becomes dependent on imports, the value of your countries currency in real terms begins to twindle. I’ve been saying it for years, I have no idea why the Canadian dollar is as high as it is right now. My assumption is that outside investors haven’t been looking at the fundamentals of the current Canadian economy or like they’ve done in the past, investors are propping up the Canadian dollar to profit from the coming crash later.
I really hope people read this CBC story and comprehend where wealth comes from. The Canadian dollar could crash tomorrow, it’s really only a big deal to people dependent on the government, the problem if the Canadian dollar crashes is if Canadians can still build and maintain things. That’s the real issue, money is replacable, skills, manufacturing the ability to create things from scratch, that’s a skill and trade that should never be tampered with. China right now is fighting like hell to make sure their monopoly on manufacturing isn’t challenged. China offered to give Trump truck loads of money to just for his Administration to go away. Why? Because China knows that as long as they’re a manufacturer for the world their countries economy even under a communist regime has some security.
This concept that throwing money at problems will solve them has got to stop. Humans are complicated creatures, we can’t cure poverty, because it starts in the mind, what we can do is raise the standard of living and in Canada, we raise the standard of living by making sure our companies can compete internationally. Excessive government regulations need to go away, recently Doug Ford attempted to shrink the size of government and already Leftist, Conservativers and centrists are up in arms, how dare Doug Ford try to get rid of unnecessary government spending and bureaucracy. This is not a partisan issue, this is a Canada wide issue and I’d like to finish by saying Canada! It’s time to rethink how we govern ourselves economically.
Interesting times ahead.
