Trump: ‘We can no longer be the stupid country’ – June 19, 2018

There’s a new video circulating which can be viewed by clicking the link below:

In which Donald Trump talks about renegotiating trade deals, personally I don’t see what the big deal is. Why can’t America do what America wants to do? In the video above, Trump accuses Canadians of smuggling U.S. goods across the border to get around ‘massive’ tariffs. This is true, It’s so true the if you’re Canadian and visit Amazon.com the American site and try to purchase something that you’ll notice is that Amazon has built in Customs charges for Canadians on checkout.

This is a fact, so if you cross the border and purchase something in the United States and try returning to Canada with your U.S bought product expect to pay a tariff in Canada known better to Canadians as duties and customs. Now I’d understand this if there was no such thing as the North American Free Trade Agreement also known as NAFTA, but NAFTA does exist, which means trump has a point.

You may not like how Trump is articulating his points but his point is valid. That aside it appears the Canadian media isn’t the only ones to blame in all of this, it’s come to my attention that Canadians have been economically coddled for so long that their sense of entitlement doesn’t allow them to see what’s happening.

I will warn Canadians again, that Toronto and Vancouver real estate problem? It still exists, manufacturing jobs leaving Canada, that problem… still exists, the consumer debt bubble? that still exists and the lower loonie in times of a trade war yes that still exists, if the Bank of Canada(BoC) is put in a position to forcibly raise interest rates, oh Canada indeed. Don’t be naive to the economic times’ we’re living in Canadian readers.

Interesting times ahead.
