The United States and the Pacific Ocean: Only the NDP could bankrupt British Columbia, Horgan you moron please cut the PST – July 29, 2020,
First and foremost I’d like to tell the people of B.C I admire you because I don’t know how you do it, I don’t even want to visit British Columbia because it’s so expensive. Below is just a preview of some of the regressive taxes the people of British Columbia pay. When you glimpse at it, try and remember that income taxes, which wouldn’t exist without the private sector aren’t included.
Climate Change Taxes – Here’s a list of all the taxes people pay on a litre of gas in B.C.:
- Provincial motor fuel tax (Metro Vancouver) — 1.75 cents
- Provincial motor fuel tax (everywhere else in B.C.) — 7.75 cents.
- B.C.’s carbon tax — 8.89 cents.
- The B.C. Transportation Finance Authority tax — 6.75 cents.
- TransLink tax (If you live in Metro Vancouver) — 17 cents, increasing to 18.5 cents on July 1 2019.
- Transit tax (If you live in Victoria) — 5.5 cents.
- Federal excise tax — 10 cents.
- Finally, pay the five per cent Goods and Services Tax on top of the total price.
Government workers, better known as public sector workers get paid via the productivity of the private sector, Income taxes paid from the public sector were the taxes already collected via the private sector. Without trade, there is no prosperity, if countries could be wealthy without trading with other nations North Korea and Cuba would be the richest nations on earth.
Wealth is derived via trade, the governments’ role in this is to help make sure trade goes smoothly, but the moment the government gets involved in Welfare for their voters, well that money has to come from somewhere and being that the NDP government can’t print money, the way Justin Trudeau does, they get most of their money via over taxation on the private sector.
Being that the NDP is the democratic socialist party of Canada, they’re well aware of late-stage capitalism, well there’s also something called late-stage socialism, late-stage socialism occurs when the government grows because the private sector has shrunk.
Covid-19 has been a private sector killer, taxes that the BC-NDP party used to collect from the private sector don’t exist anymore, however, the government, public sector, and crown corporation workers still have their jobs and their benefits.
What these BC government people may not realize right now is if BCBC doesn’t get what they’re demanding, those public sector jobs are at risk. Everybody is ignoring Quebec right now, but believe me when I write that there is going to be a lot of provinces on their hands and knees begging for some help if premiers don’t start taking economic action soon.
Canadians don’t understand how inflation works and how quickly it can happen. Once the bottom drops, it’s a wrap, the Canadian dollar on the forex markets is creeping up, but what Canadians aren’t understanding is that this is not a good thing.
BC in many ways has squandered its geographic location and who could blame them, the NDP has been the dominant political party in the region. There’s this myth that a lot of people have, that millennials will collectively and magically understand the importance of a free market to pay for welfare and entitlements.
No, if people aren’t taught about the free market, most people won’t know or comprehend how the wealth of our nation is derived. The BCBC is only asking for Horgan to cut the PST for a few years, business people in Canada are terrified of the government, they usually come to governments groveling= ‘please sir socialist Premier and Prime minister, alow us to make a profit to finance your kingdom! All we ask is 2 years, please, we’ll be good!’.
I love this country too, but being honest, I didn’t take any money from the government, I don’t want any money from the government and I’m content with inevitable occurring. In Ontario where I live we have an HST, I don’t even know how that would work here, but we have our own problems, I’m confident Doug Ford won’t have the same problems Horgan has because Ford who is also a business owner understands a market economy from a manufacturing perspective.
Champagne Socialists like John Horgan spent his entire life based on my research working for the government. Working for government your entire life is one thing, but working for the government your entire life as a Left-winger is something else.
Leftists tend to want the government to control the means of production, which equates to them addressing economic matters the way a king or Queen would address their subjects. Fr a Leftists their base of support revolves around making the province and the country economically inefficient. Rich people are bad in the minds of the socialists and therefore rich people must be punished.
Now, socialists, when they refer to rich people are often referring to people who own the means of production. Owning the means of production doesn’t make you rich, in fact most manufacturers are in debt. Being that most people can’t read a financial statement, anytime a socialist and their union hear about earnings, they don’t ever ask the question of how much did it cost the company to make those earnings. If I make $10 but I spent $12 to make that $10 and I have a loan that I have to service, how much earnings do I really have?
This lack of financial education leads to people believing that a big government is a good thing for the economy. Well, turns out it’s not, but being perfectly honest, I’m not sure what will happen to Canada in the coming months but, being that I believe Canada is in a period of ‘LATE STAGE SOCIALISM’ I’ve already placed my bets on the likely outcome for the Canadian economy!
Bordered with the United States, access o the Pacific ocean an abundance of natural resources and a neighboring province of Alberta which is willing to do all the heavy lifting and in return, all they want is a pipeline. Only a moron could destroy the B.C economy!
Interesting times ahead!
