Why Is Cuba So Poor? No, it’s not the U.S Embargo, and No, it’s not all Communism fault; the real reason Cuba is so poor is because of this… – January 11, 2022

Communist China and even Communist Vietnam is evidence that depending on what brand of communism a country opts to embrace, not only can a country survive economically but thrive. In the case of China’s brand of communism, in comparison to Western nations, which allow Labour unions in many instances to write economic and social policies, the Chinese Communist Party will have NONE OF THAT!

This is one reason why many U.S companies will bend over backward to do business in Communist China. However, it’s hard to believe for some Westerners, in many instances, Communist China is more business-friendly than “capitalist” USA. It’s for this reason solely that you’ll find more innovations in China than you will in the entire European continent, Canada or Australia. With all of its other flaws, the Chinese Communist Party has provided a working environment that, in many respects, keeps the Chinese government out of Chinese business people’s private businesses. Typically Chinese government spies are in Western businesses

It’s only recently as an example that Jack Ma, owner of Alibaba, found himself on the wrong side of the Chinese Communist Party because, as we all know, the downside to communism is that you give up your liberties and freedoms, which is why in Left-Wing countries, like Russia, Cuba, or China, the people are careful not to offend their sensitive and insecure government leaders.

The most ignorant people now imagine that Cuba is poor because of the U.S embargo😂. Ok, below is a list of countries the U.S has a ban on:

Combined, the Treasury Department, the Commerce Department and the State Department list embargoes against 30 countries or territories: Afghanistan, Belarus, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, China (PR), Côte d’Ivoire, Crimea Region, Cuba, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Myanmar, North Korea, Palestinian Territories, Russia, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

Now, did you notice CHINA is on that list? Venezuela only became poor within the last few decades, because similar to Cuba, Venezuela embraced similar stupid economic policies, that the Cuban government embraced, and this is the part of the post you’d be wise to pay close attention to avoid sounding as dumb as Bernie Sanders when he opens his mouth about Cuba.

The Cuban Government’s Regulations on their LOCAL businesses are the REAL reason why the country of Cuba is so poor

The main reason America is so rich in many ways has to do with America’s LACK of tariffs, meaning that U.S business people aren’t punished as much as other countries for IMPORTING foreign-made goods into America, not so in Cuba, in Cuba as many Cubans who live outside of Cuba know, even sending money to Cuba gets hit with a tariff.

Did you miss that? So in the United States, if let’s say I send someone money using PayPal, the receiver might get hit with a Paypal fee, well imagine if, in combination with that Paypal fee, the Cuban government took the money you sent to someone in Cuba, converted it based on what they deemed equitable thereby punishing the Cuban recipient who the money was sent for? What would business look like in that country?

There’s a reason you see so many old cars in Cuba. It’s because the country is very unfriendly to entrepreneurs and business people. It’s not to say you can’t do business in Cuba; it’s just that if you decide to do business in Cuba, no matter how hard you work, the profits you make in your Cuban-based business, for the most part, belong to the Cuban government.

Meaning that the people of Cuban are disincentivized from working in many ways. One of the first things Fidel Castro did when he took over Cuba was Nationalize industry. Nationalization also known as THEFT tends to be the wet dream of communists because LEFT-WINGERS tend to forget that capitalism isn’t fueled purely by money and greed. It’s driven by INCENTIVE.

Many Left-wingers are just as lazy and ruthless as they imagine capitalists are, the difference is the capitalist entices, the communist uses FORCE. The capitalists want a free market economy because free people tend to spend freely. If the capitalists creates things the customer wants or thinks they want, the free-thinking customer will become a customer of the capitalist.

The communist, on the flipside, wants a controlled economy that the communist can alter whenever the communist imagines that things are being unfair. The communist might become annoyed with free markets entirely, and so the communist embraces a more novel approach, the communist to avoid perceieved economic unfairness from EVER happening regulates the entire economy to serve “The people.”

This becomes highly problematic if the leader of a Communist revolution is short-sighted, which is what the Cuban government is. There is a term called “LATE STAGE CAPITALISM,” which is a period in which communists believe is the right time for the communist to take over the economy and make it more equitable. Well, Cuba is the perfect example of how dumb of an idea, late-stage capitalism is.

Again a reminder that soon after Fidel Castro took over Cuba, he began nationalizing industries, now if let’s imagine, a politician nationalizes what used to be a private business, will the politician know the inner workings of the company they nationalized? If the now nationalized business at one time imported things into what used to be a Cuban economy that embraced free markets, will those imports into Cuba flow in the way they once did, now that the Cuban government owns the means of production?

The answer is NO! The incentive to do business is lost once a government decides to nationalize private companies. Furthermore, from a business standpoint, nationalization represents a customer that’s hard to do business with. In Communsit China as an example they have the Special administrative regions of China which are regions that allow Free market capitalism, I and many others tend to refer to these regions as Free market zones.

These regions in China create a lot of wealth and are in many ways more capitalistic than many regions in the United States. So, this is an example in whcih China is communist in name only. Fidel Castro as an example read all of the CLASSICAL Socialist and Communist books, he was a pure bred communist, in China, their brand of Communsim is in many ways, Communism with Chinese characteristics.

So when the U.S puts an embargo on China, China doesn’t even have to pretend to care, the real question idiots who believe that the U.S embargo leads to poverty in Cuba should answer is, why doesn’t Cuba do business with China? The answer is simple, the domestic Cuban regulatory environment, puts the Cuban people at a severe disadvantage when they do business with Communist China.

There are way too many regulations on the Cuban citizen, their brand of communism is not only outdated, it’s extremely flawed, because, the Cuban Government swallowed that Communism nonsense whole. a reminder that the communist manifesto was a political PHAMPLET and both Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels were spoiled rich kids. Sure for it’s time the communsit manifesto was innovative, but both Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels were entitled rich kids, who were basically the hippies of their generation.

Both Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels had little comprehension of a market economy, which is something the Chinese Communist Party figured out, but the Cuban governemnt still doesn’t understand. If you’re a believer in capitalism or communism try not to get caught up in the labels, because if you get caught up in the labels, you’ll imagine that both China and Cuba are governed by the same brand of Communism.

Hong Kong was once branded as more capitalistic than the United States, Singapore as an example basically has a dictator running it’s country, but from an economics perspective, the Signaporean economy has fewer regualtions than the United States. If you look at most of the countries on America’s embargoo list, most of the countries are in Africa, to the peopel who imagine that Race is everything, a prodiminently black country of the Bahamas has the best economy in the West Indies, primariyl because it’s government currently embraces a market economy.

The Bahamas govenrment doesn’t punish people for being in business.Free markets actually help to solve RACISM, America has the richest black population on the planet, sure most black Americans aren’t consciously aware of it, but a rising tide lifts all boats. Unnecessary regulations on what could be productive people equates to perpetual poverty.

A socialist/communist revolution swept across most of Africa and Cuba helped to facilitate this, so if you try to do business in most African nations, they like Cuba have some of the worst business policies in the world. When you don’t respect property right, your country will be poor, it’s really that simple. Communist China, has some respect for property rights and it’s why it has been rewarded by people with resources.

People have to be incentivized to do business in your country, if there’s no incentive, people won’t invest in your country. MONEY ASIDE, think about this for a moment. Imagine you build a beautiful house in a communist country, and then after the house is built, the government shows up and says, because this house looks so nice, we’re going to take it from you? Will you make another beautiful house? Probably not! that’s the problem with the Cuban economy and it’s the real reason why Cuba is so poor.
