Without saying it Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole openly admits he’s not authentic: Sources say O’Toole told MPs he’s open to changing policies if he survives caucus revolt – February 2, 2022,
On Key issues, Erin O’Toole was a complete failure, first, he promised to bail out the housing market, secondly, he turned on law-abiding Gun owners, and lastly, he just didn’t want to win badly enough. The win was there, Erin O’Toole could have even openly lied if wanted to, being that Justin Trudeau lies about everything, but Erin O’Toole made the calculated decision to be what he thought was “safe”.
Anyway, he came across as tyrannical, especially during covid-19 and being that he’s wasn’t promising welfare for anyone other than Canadian mortgage holders, Canadians in welfare-dependent ridings in both Ontario and Quebec decided to vote Trudeau. The win was easy, had Erin O’Toole understood the mood of the country.
It’s not like Justin Trudeau had a resurgence of support, Trudeau lost support, but Erin O’Toole lost more support, not because of Maxime Bernier but because he refused to take a stand, he was terrified to stand out in a crowd and therefore he came across to Conservatives and independent as tyrannical. At least we know what to expect from Trudeau, this Erin O’Toole guy came across as a wild card.
So now it appears Erin O’Toole is willing to do whatever the Party asks of him? Which I think is going to fuel party members to want to get rid of him. When you have the chance to lead, LEAD! If you lose, well, you lost, but never squander your small window to be the leader you truly are. Erin O’Toole will have to claw and scrape to cling to power, as their a calls for his head.
Interesting times ahead!
