Mexico recently voted Andrés Manuel López Obrador a few years back, he’s a socialist, things haven’t gotten progressively worse in Mexico, at least not yet, and now Mexicans voted for another Far-Left socialist Claudia Sheinbaum who is not only Mexico’s first female president, she won in a historic landslide.
So what does this mean? Well, who knows? Latin America has benefited from the stupidity of U.S. voters who voted for Joe Biden. Joe Biden, in PRACTICE, is destroying the purchasing power of the U.S. consumer, with his socialist policies.
Currently it’s 50/50 chance Joe Biden wins the presidency in 2024, and what this would signal, is that North America, NAFTA, in 2025 moving forward, will have TWO Far Left Socialist Presidents, and 1 Far Left Socialist Prime Minister(Canada).
If that’s the reality moving forward, Mexico will likely take market share from Canada and the United States. Canada is the only interesting player in all of this because Canadians are the only country in NAFTA in which socialism is officially trending downward, primarily because the DOMESTIC purchasing power of the Loonie is getting destroyed.
The U.S economy is more diverse than Canada, in that the U.S. consumer can move around from State to State and in SOME instances take advantage of lower costs living n certain regions. Canada doesn’t have that luxury as their socialist Federal Government has raised taxes on EVERYONE.
Mexico, in US Dollars unlike Canada, is relatively cheap, so, we have to see in PRACTICE what Claudia Sheinbaum does with the economy. She appears to want to do a lot of SOCIAL SPENDING, but I don’t know what that means in practice because Mexico is not fully developed, so if she goes full “Green New Deal” obviously, that’s bad for the Mexican economy, however, if she’s ALL TALK with “green spending” and only pursues other social spending, well then Mexican socialism will be the best form of Socialism in North America.
If, however, Claudia Sheinbaum turns the Mexican economy into a regulations nightmare for businesses, well, then she’s going to likely face a CURRENCY CRISIS because, unlike Canada and the U.S., there’s no global demand for the Mexican Peso.
So we’ll wait and see what Claudia Sheinbaum does. With that said the Claudia Sheinbaum nightmare would be if Donald Trump wins the 2024 election and in 2025, Canada, becomes Conservative in 2025.
Canada, is a country that typically goes 10-10 meaning ten years to the Left Politically and then ten years to the Right. The U.S sometimes does the same thing, if this happens, Mexico could run into some serious economic problems, if English speaking countries start seeing capital running back to their shores.
