49,000+ GM workers go on strike, UAW members want more benefits, GM vehicle sales Down in 2019 – September 16, 2019,
So yeah, do unions care about the solvency of the company they’re extorting anymore? If you’re going to extort the company that’s employing you at the very least make sure that the company work for has an excellent reputation and at the very least is profitable? Investors have been basically trying to bail out GM in hopes that it will turn a profit and well these United Automobile Workers Strikes aren’t exactly going to help. As a consumer when I think about labour strikes, in my head what comes to mind is disgruntled workers intentionally making a bad product.
I personally believe humans have the right to remain stupid, but at the very least if you’re going to be an idiot, to act or behave like you’re some type of victim. I tried to work for GM at one point primarily because of the pay, was turned down had to work for significantly less, eventually, the GM plant closed down because of the labour unions and many of the former GM employees had to come to work in the shipping/receiving company I was working in. Most of the GM workers couldn’t keep up with us. Most of us would intentionally work the night shifts to avoid working with entitled former GM employees.
I never understood what GM workers were complaining about, is there really anything better out there for a lower-skilled worker?😂 Most of the former GM workers I worked with were horrible at inventory, slow on the forklift and slow picker-packers. It was an embarrassment and the company I worked for, was very accommodating, allowing us to leave early with pay if we worked faster. The former GM workers, worked slower, complained more and always had annoying stories to tell.

Personally, I refuse to even go to Detroit, but if I lived and grew up in Detroit and I worked in GM, there is no way in hell I’m rocking that boat. GM is saving Detroit not the other way around, GM doesn’t exactly have the best reputation either, I have absolutely no plans on ever purchasing a GM vehicle ever again. I assumed in the past that a Unionized employee equated to the highest level of Quality, well as many GM car owners know, GM quality for their cars isn’t amongst the top.
Anyway, good luck to the UAW workers! Personally I think you’re all a bunch of idiots but hey, if missing pay is what you want to do, all power to you! Just don’t be surprised if GM announces more factory closures in the future. Again there are no guarantees that the next President of the United States will be anything like Donald Trump. Trump was a Godsend, but America is a democracy and those Democrats sound bat crazy, you can’t argue that the batch of upcoming democrats definitely don’t have any business smarts, which means if a democrat becomes president of the United States, if GM or any other American auto manufacturer decides to leave or limit their manufacturing exposure in the U.S a lot of you won’t have a voice and will more than likely have to take a drastic cut in pay.
Interesting times ahead!
