According to news sources “Honda to get up to $5B in government assistance for EV battery, assembly plants.” Interestingly enough, Ontario, to counter Justin Trudeau’s prior idiotic carbon tax policies, had given Honda money, so this deal by Trudeau appears politically motivated as he attempts to attract the environmental socialists, who, based on my research, don’t even pay attention to this type of thing.
In regards to jobs, if you’re watching the data coming out from Stellantis and Volkswagen, who are also recipients of corporate welfare, they’ve been LAYING OFF people.
Because some of us make our living off of this, we monitor it and from my perspective, Stellantis, Volkswagen and Honda, use these government subsidies to offset their LOSSES.

Because a lot of the Uber wealthy own the media and the politicians, you won’t hear much about the layoffs, and you have to remember that most people don’t care, nor do they pay attention to this stuff, so when people like myself look at these numbers, this all looks orchestrated.
The valuation of Tesla for example, is all based on FAITH, because when you look at Tesla’s revenue, it’s a giant scam, take a 5 year look at the stock prices of Stellantis and Volkswagen, during a period of rampant inflation, the value of their stocks have all DECLINED.
Honda, is different, but not because of their EV, but primarily because their approach is different, Honda, similar to Toyota, has stuck with the Hybrid model. If you’re wondering, why Honda, is asking for the money? It’s because they’re making sure Canadian taxpayers are taking all the risk, which by the way is EXACTLY what Stellantis and Volkswagen did.
You have to remember, that Canadian politicians, especially the Liberals, are known for DESTROYING manufacturing jobs in Canada, there’s a long track record of them doing this so whenever any large corporation invests in Canada, they need assurances. That’s where this corporate welfare comes from.
