What Does ASL mean in chat?

In short ASL means age, sex, location typically ASL is used text messages and chat rooms. So again the ASL is just an abbreviation for Age sex and location.

To those of you that might be new to the internet world I would be careful who you decide to give this type of information too. For any of you young children don’t give this type of information to anybody. Another thing I want to point out is be careful giving out your ASL in public chats, public forums and just in general because there are people that will take and sell your personal information for profit. A strategy I use is I will use an alias as my ASL, to me its safety issue you don’t want to trust any and everybody with your personal information

People typically use ASL to introduce themselves in chat you can use it yourself in chat rooms you trust. There are lots of nice people on the internet and there are also a bunch of bad people usually you can tell the good from the bad based on how they talk or treat you. If someone wants to know too much about you right away typically I would say stay away from them, I’m still not a huge fan of the whole meeting people online thing so just be careful.
