#CNBC Why Democratic Socialism Is Gaining Popularity In The United States
After watching the video below, I was kind of disappointed that they didn’t give a fair assessment of Democratic Socialism. Democracy uses the majority to oppress the minority, socialism involves the government controlling certain segments of the economy. Being that everything is intertwined, this assists in the growth of the government and at the hyperinflation of the money supply.
The problem with Democratic Socialism is the problem with Democracy, the people (The majority) Can change laws to oppress the minority. So any person deemed to have what the majority believes is too much can have their properties, whether physical or intellectual taken from them.
This democratic socialist process which is nothing new eventually leads to Authoritarian regimes because after all micro-managing an entire economy is hard work and to alleviate themselves of the difficult tasks of micromanaging the private sector, eventually, the majority via democracy will opt for sweeping changes. Government health care, government schools, unionized protected government jobs, a Bernie Sander/Hugo Chávez figure appears that tells the people Nationalism of private industries currently making huge profits will solve our economic problems sweeps the nation, of course, the potential of hyperinflation of the money supply is ignored by socialists, who believe more money solves poverty.
The assumptions made by socialists doesn’t take into account the reality that currency hyperinflation that’s plagued every democratic socialist nation ever created happens. America had to dump the Gold Standard because FDR’s Great Society didn’t work.
DEFLATION of the currency is banned in a socialist society because the major component of a socialist utopia is growing the public sector. If you have a unionized public sector and a politician attempts austerity measures in a democracy, this is a declaration of war on Proletariat. The end result of Democratic Socialism at best is Argentina (constantly hyper-inflated currency) at worst it’s Nazi (National Socialist) Germany. Also for better perspective the European Union, the Euro currency only exists because most of Europe found their countries currency destroyed because of democratic socialism. The Euro has only been in existence since 1999! Italy already wants out of the Euro because it lost its ability to devalue its currency to pay the bills of its public sector.
I also find it odd that Bernie Sanders who wants a $15 Federal minimum wage used Denmark and Sweden who don’t have minimum wages as examples of Democratic Socialism he thinks America should follow. At the very least Bernie’s Democratic Socialism should be his own. Socialism is a silly concept, if America ever tries it they’ll pay for it and lose their ability to deflate prices for consumers, which as simple as it may seem is the main driver of poverty in the world. The inability to deflate consumer prices, try and remember this if you ever decide to become a democratic socialists, items that aren’t nationalized by the government will not be able to deflate unless the private business owner is liquidating. Which is something I do with my investments in America if Crazy Bernie ever became President of the United States.
Interesting times ahead.
