MyPCBackup.com Review – Is it a scam?
MyPCBackup.com is a website that claims to offer safe, secure online backup of your PC files like your photos, music, emails, videos, and documents. Registration is needed in order to get started with MyPCBackup.
The site claims that once you sign up, you will receive free online backup, enjoy the benefit of getting access to your computer files anywhere, and get 100% automated backups that are encrypted and secure.
How MyPCBackup.com works
After signing up at MyPCBackup, you will receive a 14-day trial. Within those 14 days, you can enjoy the services offered by the website. To start backing up files, you have to download the MyPCBackup desktop application.
MyPCBackup allows you to schedule your backup. You can choose among the daily, weekly, and monthly options. MyPCBackup claims that the scheduled backup won’t be noticeable at all but you will receive a notification once the backup is complete.
If you’re not satisfied with the services offered by MyPCBackup, you can cancel your subscription within the 14-day trial. However, if you’d like to go on with their service, you can pick a subscription plan that suits you.
The price of each plan depends on the duration of your subscription. The 2-year subscription will require you to pay $4.95/month; $5.95/month for a year of subscription, and $6.95/month for a 6-month subscription.
Final thoughts on MyPCBackup.com
The good thing about MyPCBackup.com is that it offers unlimited storage, a feature that you rarely find in other sites offering the same service. If you have bad history with lost files, you can try the services offered by MyPCBackup. Besides, they offer a 14-day trial. Lastly I would like to add that I do not endorse My PC Backup nor am I recommending them to anyone

I do not want to be a part of this program. I want a refund told my credit card company to stop payment.
I WAS TOLD BY MY SON MY COMPUTER IS ALREADY BACKED UP BY THE LEGAL GROUP BELONG TO.
DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE DATA IS GETTING BACK UP TO … APPARENTLY NEITHER DOES MyPCBackup.com …
Two days ago I suddenly realised that my PC was running super slow; keyboard commands and mouse movements delayed, applications took several seconds to open. TaskManager showed MyPCBackup.com was running and utilizing 85% of my CPU. Acitivity lights on my modem were going nuts. A back up was occurring no doubt, but now the question is how and where?
To the best of my knowledge, I never installed, executed or requested MyPCBackup.com. I don’t even know how it ended up on my computer. I AM sole user of my computer. Maybe 3rd party advertisement…
After several email trouble tickets and a phone call to MyPCBackup’s service center (apparently in the the Philipines) I could get no answers to any of my questions. They simply had no records of a back up occurring, my account or any activity by me.
A back up was ocurring … I have no doubt. What information was being copied off my computer and to where it went appears to be a mystery to everyone. Sorry folks but that’s super scary!
Given it’s MyPCBackup.com software that was running on my computer and they could give me no information as to how, why or where a back-up was occurring is downright criminal and lacks in reliablity and accountability.
To MyPCBackup.com corporate in the UK … Trouble tickets 3629583, 3629573, 3629579.
As last word, the customer service reps did the best they could. It’s the system that’s flawed.
I have made several attempts to remove MyPCBackup from my laptop, a program that I never wanted nor did I authorize it to be installed on my computer. It appeared to be uninstalled, yet I am still getting pop-ups instructing me to use their service to back-up my computer. This program is nothing more than a virus and a scam and the people that promote it are criminals. Beware of this scam virus. I am looking at filing legal action, both criminal and civil, against these criminals.
Tried to login to cancel won’t let me. So glad I didn’t give them any credit info.
Do not sign up for mypcbackup.com! I signed up for “free” backup but by the time got through signing up, paid about $120 for a year. Service never worked, every email I sent was replied to with a long list of steps to take, which never worked either. Follow-up emails replied to same way. Tries to write a review on the “top 10 online backup systems” site I’d found them on, but can’t access it, looks like a phony review site. I gave up and use carbonite. Then the scammers re-charged my account another $145 to renew the “service”. I suspect a scam, well-executed, I must admit.
I don’t even know how MyPCBackup got on my computer, but, the ‘trial’ is now long overdue and I’m not sure if they’re even allowed to be sending me email threats about deleting my files?
Why these scams are still flourishing? Nothing can be done to block these scams off the web?
Requested cancellation of mypcbackup 4/30/2015. Monthly fee Stil being billed to my credit card. Ignore email requests to cancel/refund.
I do NOT have MyPCBackup, nor do I want it, but I continue to receive unsolicited emails from “Gabriel”, who is SUPPOSEDLY my “account manager”, regularly. The emails always say:
“Hi Michelle,It’s Gabriel, your account manager from MyPC Backup. I sent you an important email earlier this month regarding the deletion of your files and wanted to make sure you had seen it. Your MyPC Backup file protection license has now fully expired, leaving your important documents exposed and vulnerable to fatal hard drive failure, harmful viruses and even accidental deletion…. Use the link below today and we can protect your photos, songs, files and documents instantly for only $1.00….”
I feel this is DEFINITELY a SCAM.
I just worked for MyPC Backup, Justcloud, ZipCloud and BackupGenie. And I do confirm that it these online backup apps are really used for scam. These apps are also related with MyFlex Jobs. Just please do not sign up for this and never ever provide any of your billing information.
And by the way, that “Gabriel”, who always sends you emails is just computer generated. Please do buy this scam.
