Cardpool.com Review – Is it a scam?
Established in 2009, Cardpool.com is a website designed for gift card exchanges. It allows people to buy and sell gift cards at a discounted price. Since the year it was established, it has become the largest and fastest growing card exchanges on the internet today.
To verify the balance and authenticity of the card, Cardpool buys gift cards directly from the sellers. These cards are purchased up to 92% of their value. Sellers can expect the payment within 24 hours when Cardpool receives the gift cards.
Aside from being gift card sellers’ hub, Cardpool is also a place where people can purchase gift cards at up to 35% off. Gift cards are shipped via USPS first class and arrives within 3-7 days. For electronic gift cards, they are usually emailed within 24 hours of purchase. Since Cardpool doesn’t charge taxes, fees or shipping costs, the advertised price is the only price to pay.

Stay away from this crummy company – Cardpool.com. It was bought out by Blackhawk Network – the worst company in the gift card business. Their corporate number is Phone: 925-226-9990 but it’s completely useless, they don’t care about customer service issues. Cardpool itself is a total scam, they don’t have a physical office, their calls are routed to disposable cell phones, and they only have 2 employees – Anson Tsai (the owner – cell 415-269-6147) and Jeff (order support – cell 925-337-5811). The whole operation is linked to a PO box but all the action is happening at the owner’s condo at 660 King St #223. They will lie to you, hang up on you and even block your number so you can’t call them. Read the reviews online, they’ve stolen thousands of dollars from customers’ gift cards, going so far as blaming the post office, when the post office has provided video footage showing them taking possession of undamaged envelopes. You’ve been warned! DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS!!!
DP is right, these guys are horrible! Don’t trust them at all. They take FOREVER to get your money and treat you like crap. I will NEVER sell to them again. I’ve sold gift cards for a long time now (mostly through my store) but I recently found Giftcardo.com. They actually TREAT ME LIKE A CUSTOMER and respond to any questions promptly. I never have to worry about where my money is or if they got my cards. Top notch service from a top notch company.
I sold 3 gift cards to cardpool.com. I sent the cards in three different envelopes and generated 3 different transaction numbers and shipping labels. It has been nearly 4 weeks and they keep telling me they did not receive not even 1 of my 3 envelopes. They are not good on customer service and they think customers are not smart enough to realize they are being ripped off. I have sold gift cards before and never have I experienced anything like this. Please do your research before selling/sending valuable gift cards to this company. I have read a few good reviews, but most of their customers are disgruntled. I have contacted Black Hawk Network who owns them and will keep going higher til I receive the service I was promised. I want the money for the gift cards I sent, no more excuses from Anderson, Mia and Lincoln about the mail being slow. I am not even sure these customer service representatives exist. They could be made up names, due to the fact that they have not handle my situation with integrity & in a professional manner.

Thanks for this review. I was just about to place two separate gift cards in the mail to them, but decided to see what I could find out about them on the internet.
I attempted to purchase a Kohl’s gift card from Cardpool and the website stated that the card would be sent via e-mail In 1 day. My credit card was charged immediately but I received an e-mail the same day indicating they needed some verification. When I went where they directed me, the questions asked had nothing to do with my identification. It indicated a telephone # to call for further verification but when I called it several times, each time I was sent to voice mail. After 5 days I sent an e-mail indicating that if I didn’t receive the card in 2 days I was going to call my credit card company and cancel the charge as well as informing them of the scam Cardpool was trying to pull. I received an e-mail almost immediately telling me that they had cancelled my order and were going to credit my charge. This just happened so I’m waiting to see if it happens.
