So, the question to ask is: Why hasn’t Ontario fired Doug Ford?
The answer lies with Canada’s incompetent federal government. One of the major reasons unemployment remains high in Ontario is because Doug Ford has shrunk the size of the provincial government while simultaneously increasing actual revenues from the private sector.
Let’s not forget: Prior to Doug Ford, the Ontario Liberals were not only spending like drunken sailors—they were also overregulating and price-fixing the Ontario economy to justify raising salaries for government bureaucrats.
While Ford’s Cabinet has expanded, the public sector itself hasn’t. Many of the public servants who were laid off weren’t contributing real value to Ontario’s economy. Add to that the now-disgraced former Prime Minister—Justin Trudeau—who was ousted from his own party largely due to his mishandling of the economy.
The federal Conservative Party of Canada HAD a massive lead until…
The federal Conservative Party of Canada had a massive lead in national polls until Trudeau was replaced with someone left-wing voters perceived as more “economically competent”—a former banker, Mark Carney. On paper, however, Carney may actually be worse for the economy than Trudeau.
Yet, because Canadians generally have a low financial IQ, they believe that reputation is everything. So, while unemployment is up and most Ontarians can’t pinpoint why, Doug Ford still managed to win three consecutive provincial elections.
The problem with Canada’s left-wing population is that they will now have to own what’s coming. Doug Ford—himself a former businessman—has largely taken a subsidizing approach to helping the private sector weather the damage caused by federal policies.
Based on Canada’s far left FEDERAL Governemnt I’m surprised more businesses haven’t Left Ontario
It actually surprises me that more businesses haven’t left Ontario. When Trudeau imposed his misguided carbon tax, Ford responded by trying to send more money to individuals and businesses—money he found by shrinking the public sector. Unfortunately, this often goes unnoticed by so-called “principled” conservatives who demand libertarian utopias, despite a hostile federal government.
Many libertarians, as I’ve pointed out before, are extremely lazy in their political thinking. They don’t understand that the average person isn’t interested in Austrian economics. Most humans want instant solutions—quick, tangible benefits they can see now. If you’re entering politics, which is really a form of sales, you must anticipate this mindset.
I know my province. I was born and raised here. The Progressive Conservative movement was always about flexibility in the face of stupidity—not rigid ideology.
Financially Illiterate Ontario Voters Vote For a Prime Minister (Mark Carney) who on paper is worse than Justin Trudeau
Ontarians are directly responsible for making Mark Carney Prime Minister. You’d think people here would understand that Carney’s policies will make life even more expensive. But voting patterns in this province reflect how financially naïve many Ontarians are.
You can’t force people to be financially literate. You have to work with what you have and make do. Doug Ford isn’t the Prime Minister—his role is Premier of Ontario. His duty is to protect the best interests of all Ontarians, no matter how economically misguided we may be.
Of course, the media is going to blame Ford for Ontario’s economic challenges. But many of these problems stem from decisions made under Stephen Harper, who packed the courts with left-leaning judges—an issue that only got worse under nine years of Justin Trudeau.
Why Ontario PRIVATE businesses are hesitant to hiring
If you’re a business owner in Ontario, you’re naturally hesitant to hire, because rising crime and legal uncertainties have become part of your risk calculation. Doug Ford, whether you like him or not, has to factor these realities into his policymaking.
In the end, if Ontario stays true to form, the moment a Conservative becomes Prime Minister, the same short-sighted Ontario voters will likely throw Doug Ford out—just because. That’s the cycle of stupidity in this province.
So yes, while Doug Ford isn’t perfect, I give credit where it’s due. At least to me, his actions make a lot of sense.
