What does AFK mean in texting?

If this is the first time that you’re hearing the term AFK in while in a chat room or while you’re chatting via a text message don’t worry this is not a commonly used term and chances are only few thousand people globally use this term commonly.

AFK  = Away From Keyboard

While in a chat I could imagine a person saying to the person they’re chatting with something like “AFK I’m going to go grab something to eat” or “AFK I’m talking on the phone” Again this is not a commonly used slang so if you’re just now finding out the meaning don’t worry about it!
