Alberta burgeoning cannabis industry based on a favorable business environment, Albertan Separatism Without Oil and Gas – November 14, 2019,
In this article, I attempt to make the argument that the Albertan economy is more than simply oil and gas. In this article, I attempt to make it clear that the energy that comes from Albertan labour is merely the cherry on top of good Conservative policies. A lot of American thinkers made Alberta their home, this along with Old Stock Canadians who have been residing in Alberta for over a hundred years have created a business climate that I personally believe they’ve dumbed down to appease the Ottawa establishment.
Free market capitalism is in actuality boring in its implementation, free-market capitalism actually revolves around the cost of doing business and adding value where none existed prior. When the government gets out of the way, the cost to do business remains extremely low, so low that deflationary forces often plague capitalism, now deflationary prices in the tech sector are why I’m able to write this article using a computer that was priced less than $400CAD.
The internet existed long before the private sector got a hold of it, but it was the private sector that pushed prices down, so far in fact that in countries like Canada, our telecom monopolies have to go to the government and plead their cases as to why foreign countries like America shouldn’t bring their internet into Canada and drive prices down even further. I want the reader to understand, that the cure for poverty already exists, unfortunately, the government and majority of the people in most democracies hang onto the illusion of security. Below is a video of what happens to the cannabis industry when the government gets out of the way.
Capitalism doesn’t raise prices, it brings prices down, in third world countries, they’re happy when they get a European, Canadian, American or Oceanic climate making bulk purchases, why? Because we pay more for what they can’t sell locally. The infrastructure in many instances simply isn’t there for many third world countries to handle the energy loads of technological items in Canada we take for granted. This, of course, revolves around Canadian energy, but more than that our infrastructure is managed by good policies that help the private sector to thrive.
When it comes to Alberta, the reader must be aware that, it’s their development of natural resources that makes Alberta what it is today, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, PEI all the eastern provinces have energy resources that could have been developed but aren’t because of bad provincial policies. There’s this assumption by Leftist political Parties like The Green Party, The NDP and the Liberals, that when Ottawa creates an unfavorable economic policy that the Private Sector won’t react to it?
No, the reason why Alberta is what it is today is that their leaders throughout the years, understood there are instances in which the government simply has to get out of the way. In Communist China, a lot of people have a hard time comprehending that China has Free Market zones and it’s these free-market zones that pay for the public spending of the Chinese Communist Party. Have you heard of Ghost cities in China? Well, this central planning scheme was created by the Chinese Communist Party, the money the Chinese private sector produced was squandered by the government, go figure?
Most politicians make horrible business people, it’s hard for a Justin Trudeau or a Jagmet Singh to balance a checkbook while at the same time meeting the demands of voters, but they’ve been able to do it with the help of Western Canadian Provinces like Alberta. Personally I don’t like socialism, especially in the technological era, a lot of social programs simply aren’t needed, socialist is being forced to go harder left because the freedom of speech is unbearable to them.
Imagine being a Leftist in this modern era? You really have to block out the noise, because the evidence that free-market capitalism solves poverty is overwhelming. Why does this spook the Left, because in a world of common sense this would mean shrinking the welfare state. Even in Sweden, the government is getting smaller, in many parts of Europe the people are beginning to wind down bloated socialist programs, now it’s not to say that Europe doesn’t have socialism, but their governments are becoming more responsible and for most people ho are simply looking at the MONEY, they’re having a hard time comprehending that it’s the higher COSTs OF DOING business, that leads to most poverty.
In most Canadian provinces, the cannabis industry has a supply management system, this is of course what drives the prices up and this will also ultimately lead to more crime because come on let’s call it for what it is, cannabis is a plant, I have friends that grow things for fun, friends who grow things just to entertain guests, humans gravitate to freedom, what often happens however and this is the kicker is that when people are brainwashed into believing that climate change as an example is an existential threat to humanity, instinctively some humans who believe that their government would never lie to them, will vote for policies that increase poverty.
Poverty is caused primarily by higher costs and the government pinning one group against the other. Typically the government will play the game of pinning the poor against the rich. This is of course how Hitler was created, those evil rich jews were taking money from the honest hard working white man! Hitler let this message stick and then Hitler promised his followers that after the Nazis conquered the world, the White Aryan German will have all their economic needs met by their infidel servants.
Well, as the story goes, the trajectory of Germany was heading in a positive direction especially in comparison to the rest of the world, however, Hitler created a sense of urgency, we need to act NOW Hitler demanded, which is a very similar strategy the Climate Change Alarmist are using. If we don’t pay higher taxes and give more of our money to multinational corporations to solve this climate change crisis the world is going to end! Big Governments do this, big governments always have plans for your life that in most instances are against your better interests, but you see, similar to the Alberta cannabis industry when the government stays out of the way, the industry blossoms to the point that it becomes a target of attack for tax collection!
They’re making to much money, allow the government to take from these greedy capitalists and redistribute this newfound wealth in a manner your government deems acceptable. If Albertans see Ottawa for what it is, if Albertans see Leftism for what it is, I don’t understand why Western Canada wouldn’t use the same political strategy Quebec has been using for decades?
The Jason Kenney Conservative types want the people of Alberta to believe it’s all about the Oil and the energy when in fact it’s not, it’s about the policies! I heard Jason Kenney during his speech make the same argument that the mainstream media makes, which is Alberta is landlocked and separating wouldn’t help them? Now, personally I don’t want Western Canada to leave, what I do want are sound economic policies in Canada, I’d like a U.S style electoral college process, because basically the Federal election is over once Quebec and Ontario vote and why shouldn’t Ontario and Quebec not vote for what’s in their best interests? Morality is subjective, I’m Christian but I sure do know a lot of Atheists and most Atheists tend to lean more towards the left side of the political spectrum.
If I can vote to make Western Canada subsidize my lifestyle, sell me on why I should stop? I personally think Jason Kenney is looking out for his own political career, I believe Jason Kenney hopes to be the Prime Minister one day, but Stephen Harper created a demand for Justin Trudeau. Why should we shrink the deficit with low-interest rates? Eastern Canada sided with Justin Trudeau, why? Because Stephen Harper rarely if ever took the time to educate his voters about deficit spending.
Public Servants don’t work for free and with all the extra borrowed money Trudeau is using to finance the public sector, there will come a day in which our labour will have to pay back those deficits and being that most government workers have paychecks that keep up with inflation, our children and grandchildren will be stuck paying for public servant retirements.
Being that it appears that landlocked Alberta is going to have a large chunk of its energy market phased out, I don’t see why they’d be so complacent? I use the cannabis example to illustrate that the problem with Canada is policy, Alberta and some sections of Western Canada, appear to comprehend that with or without oil, what makes a country prosperous is to keep public services at affordable levels. Keep the government small and responsible, Eastern Canada has been very irresponsible and we’re able to be irresponsible because Western Canada is financing us!
